Gold Coast influencer Ashy Bines was left devastated following her brain surgery to remove an aneurysm when doctors revealed they had found a second one.

The 35-year-old mother of two was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm in March when she was rushed to hospital after experiencing sudden vision loss; surgery was scheduled for July before it was delayed until August.

In a video posted to Instagram on Wednesday, Ashy revealed that surgeons removed the first aneurysm, but discovered a second one that they were unable to remove in the process.

“I had surgery and everything went very well. However, when I woke up, they told me they had found another aneurysm,” she told her followers in an emotional video in which she appears lying in a hospital bed after the operation.

‘I had the original treated today, but they weren’t able to treat the second one, and I’ll most likely have to have another surgery before the year is out.

I can’t count how many times I’ve cried because I’m absolutely devastated, but I just have to be strong and know that I can do hard things and get through this.

“I’m very grateful that they found both aneurysms and that I can have surgery, because obviously they can be fatal.”

Ashy went on to say that the recovery process was much more difficult than she anticipated after her brain surgery and revealed that she was awake for 28 hours straight.

“I wasn’t prepared for how difficult post-op recovery would be. Aside from being put to sleep for the operation, I’ve now been awake for almost 28 hours straight. I underestimated how challenging it would be physically and mentally.”

According to the Mayo ClinicA brain aneurysm is a bulge in the wall of an artery that fills with blood and can cause a fatal stroke if it ruptures.

Brain aneurysms are common and usually cause no symptoms, but they quickly become life-threatening when they rupture and are not treated promptly.

Three months ago, Ashy revealed to her fans that she suffered a brain aneurysm after losing her sight and being hospitalized.

At the time, she posted a video of her arrival with her family and captioned it with some alarming words: “I’ve lost my sight three times in the last week. I decided to go to a doctor because we were starting to get worried.

“I had a CT scan and they found a small aneurysm. It was quite scary as my husband Steve had a huge one removed and I also have a family history of this condition. I lost a young uncle and a grandmother to an aneurysm.”

Ashy added that she had the full support of Steve and her children Taj and Tala, who had visited her in hospital.
