Matildas fans will get a behind-the-scenes sneak peek after Stan Sports announced the arrival of a new documentary about Sam Kerr & Co, due out later this year.
Tony Gustavsson’s team sealed their place at this year’s Paris Olympics on Wednesday night after crushing Uzbekistan 13-0 on aggregate, capping a remarkable 12 months in which they reached the semi-finals of the World Cup. World.
And now, an original Stan documentary titled Trailblazers will show the transformative journey of the Australian women’s team.
Trailblazers will take viewers through the rise of the Matildas and women’s football in Australia in general.
The documentary will cover the first match recognized by FIFA in 1989 and the early years of pay-to-play, as well as the teams’ strike for equal pay in 2015, their heartbreak at Tokyo 2020 and the trip to last year’s World Cup.
The Matildas will be the focus of a new documentary coming to Stan Originals

Kerr, Mary Fowler and Katrina Gorry, just a few of the players who are now household names, will appear in the documentary.
Trailblazers will air just before the start of the Paris Olympics.

The documentary will air on Stan ahead of the Paris Olympics later this year.
