Good Morning America’s Lara Spencer has revealed she has been off the airwaves this week due to two painful surgeries on both feet.

The TV presenter, 55, took to Instagram to detail her operations and shared a photo of her bandaged feet.

He posted a photo with his surgeon thanking him for his help and stating that he is recovering.

“If I look a little groggy it’s thanks to this guy who just gave me a new pair of boots,” Spencer said.

The mother-of-two explained why she needed each operation and revealed she suffered an agonizing injury at university.

‘My right foot was fine: I just had the plate removed from surgery last year. The left is a bigger problem due to a very old college diving injury. “I was doing a reverse and a half move and I hit the board, breaking my fingers and joints,” Spencer said.

‘Back then they said there was nothing you could do but record it, let it heal and live with the pain. There are much better options today, thanks to surgeons like Dr. Marty O’Malley at HSS.’

Colleagues and fans flooded his comments with well wishes and messages of a speedy recovery.

‘Jesus!!! Who does both feet at the same time???? My girl, that’s who! How hard! Sending you some quick love for a speedy recovery! We have to dance,” said former GMA chief medical officer Dr. Jennifer Ashton.

‘Dear!! Feel better soon,” said Rebecca Jarvis, chief business, economics and technology correspondent.

ABC News 20/20 co-anchor Deborah Roberts said: ‘Wow! Well, you’ll certainly be spinning around in no time!’

Spencer attended Pennsylvania State University on an athletic scholarship for trampoline and platform diving, and was a nationally ranked competitive jumper.

She was named an All American Athlete in 1991, her senior year, and graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism.

The TV host shared in a 2023 post that O’Malley previously had foot surgery due to a plantar plate and ligament tear that she said had been “slowly getting worse and worse.”

Last week, the Good Morning America team unveiled its 2024 Christmas card, but fans were left outraged after they noticed a major oversight.

The box was decorated with twinkling lights and various Christmas-themed decorations, and the GMA cast members stood in front of snowy trees.

But some social media users were quick to point out that two of the network’s top stars were missing from the holiday lineup: weekend anchor Gio Benitez and meteorologist Sam Champion.

People magazine shared the new holiday card on Instagram on Wednesday, and people immediately took to the comments section to ask why they weren’t in it.

“You’re missing Sam Champion and Gio Benítez,” one person commented.

Another said: “Sam has disappeared,” with a crying emoji.
