It is understood that the doll was left “inflated” at the unnamed fire station for several days.

A firefighter, who declined to be named, said the station’s firefighters were “rude” with the doll but “felt humiliated” by the incident.

Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue said it could not confirm where the incident took place or how many staff were involved for ‘confidential reasons’.

The fire service said: ‘Over the past two years, the GFRS senior leadership team has visited all staff to promote and explain the importance of the service’s values.

“GFRS employees are expected to behave in accordance with these values ​​at all times and demonstrate the highest level of professionalism, integrity and tolerance.

“To fall short of this is completely unacceptable. This incident has now been fully investigated and appropriate disciplinary action has been taken.”
