Geelong’s rising star Oisin Mullin is not available for selection at any level this weekend, and he couldn’t be happier about it.
The Irish defender, 24, got about a week’s leave from the Cats and landed in Italy on Tuesday ahead of his sister’s wedding.
He soon took Instagramposting a photo of the European vacation destination that he simply captioned “tourist.”
Mullin has played two AFL games this year, following six appearances in his debut season last year.
The former Gaelic football superstar was originally scheduled to join the AFL heavyweights in 2022 but played another season for Mayo, where he was named Young Footballer of the Year for the second time.

The one-time Gaelic football superstar was originally scheduled to join the Cats in 2022 but played another season for Mayo (pictured), where he was named Young Footballer of the Year for the second time.
He has since signed a contract extension with Geelong, which will see Mullin a Cat until at least 2025.
“We recognize how brave and brave a decision Oisín made to move to Australia,” Geelong general manager Andrew Mackie said after Mullin put pen to paper.
“He has positively integrated into our football program and we are very pleased with his development.”
It comes as Geelong remains unbeaten this season and, in ominous news for their rivals, captain Patrick Dangerfield will return from a hamstring injury against the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba on Saturday.
Veteran forward Tom Hawkins will also play after being rested last week.
