Glamorous Republican Rep. Beth Van Duyne has broken her silence about her love affair with married Georgia Republican Rich McCormick and confirmed they are “happily engaged in a relationship.”

DailyMail.com exclusively revealed that the couple had developed a particularly cozy relationship just as McCormick and his wife filed for divorce.

Footage from the March 7 State of the Union address shows McCormick caressing Van Duyne’s arm, and sources say this is commonplace for the seemingly in love couple.

They have been caught arriving and leaving late-night events together, and several eyewitnesses have seen the couple holding hands just off the House floor.

Van Duyne told DailyMail.com on Friday that Rich and his wife are “amazing people” and that their marriage “has been over for quite some time.”

“As I understand it, your marriage has ended quite some time ago and you have filed for divorce.”

‘I’m single. We are both parents of adult children and are empty nesters. “We are happily engaged in a relationship and beyond that, it’s a personal matter.”

Inside sources have revealed new details to DailyMail.com about the nature of the couple’s alleged relationship that has blossomed on Capitol Hill.

It’s hard to miss the handsome McCormick and the tall, thin blonde Van Duyne strolling through the halls of Congress, making quite a notable couple in a building full of elderly people, staffers say.

McCormick, a year and a half into his first term in Congress, filed for divorce from his oncologist wife of 12 years, Dr. Debra Miller, on May 3. A mutual restraining order was also filed, DailyMail.com reported exclusively on Thursday.

McCormick and Miller, his second wife, share seven children and live in Suwanee, Georgia.

Miller, meanwhile, has practiced medicine for more than 30 years. With her long blonde locks, it’s hard to miss the similarities between her and Van Duyne.

“Rich clearly has a type,” said a source close to the congressman.

When asked about the reason for the divorce, Miller texted DailyMail.com: “I’m sure he won’t be forthcoming.”

Van Duyne has two children with her ex-husband, Chris Wallach, her college sweetheart from her time at Cornell. The couple divorced in 2012 after 17 years of marriage.

A single mother, she was mayor of Irving, Texas from 2011 to 2017 and also served in the Department of Housing and Urban Development during the Trump administration.

It has not been free of scandals in recent years.

In February 2021, Richard Dillard, communications director for his 2020 campaign, took his own life outside Van Duyne’s home in Irving, Texas.

It is known that he loves to party and enjoy a good glass of wine, according to knowledgeable sources.

As one of the youngest members of Congress, which is largely dominated by older men, she shines among the weathered congressmen and has an infectious personality.

A Republican Party member told DailyMail.com that McCormick and his colleague had been seen “holding hands under the table” at a weekly lunch.

Additionally, the member also revealed that they saw Rich ‘grab his lower back’ on the House floor during votes.

Two other witnesses say they saw him and Van Duyne holding hands, and one of them witnessed it as the couple left the polls.

Shortly after, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., who had also filed an unsuccessful censure of Tlaib, accused McCormick of becoming physically aggressive toward her.

Sources told CNN that in a private meeting with House Speaker Mike Johnson in December, Greene claimed her colleague “grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her” and asked the president to address the issue. .

‘I understand why there would be a lot of raw emotions after the no-confidence vote, given that his censure was postponed and mine was approved. “My intention was to encourage Rep. Greene with a friendly gesture,” McCormick said.
