The 11-episode series sees a new generation of Gladiators take on the public – from an elite CrossFit athlete from Manchester to a James Bond actor and two Olympic athletes.

In each episode, the Gladiators take on contenders in games new and old, ending with the iconic challenge, The Eliminator.

After ten grueling weeks of competing against the superhuman Gladiators, they will take to the arena one last time to see who has the will, the skill and the heart to be a winner and emerge as Gladiators 2024 champion.

Before facing off in the legendary Eliminator, they will first feel the power of the Gladiators.

Firefighter Brontë, 23, from Sheffield, is the youngest contender in the final and over the course of the competition has returned to face Diamond, Fury and many more.

Before the final, Brontë admitted that she felt “crazy” to be in the final and that she didn’t expect to get as far as she did.

She said: “I feel very proud of myself.”

Marie-Louise, from Dublin, has achieved maximum points five times throughout the series.

While she struggled with some challenges, she reigned victorious and became a finalist during The Eliminator.

They will join Edinburgh’s Finlay and Wesley, an administrative officer from Leeds.

The BBC has confirmed that Gladiators will return for a second series.

The rebooted show returned in January with father and son duo Bradley and Barney Walsh hosting from Sheffield.

The revival has been a ratings success, as its debut episode attracted a whopping 6.4 million viewers.

Its future was cemented after BBC boss Tim Davie included the series in his list of “big priorities” for the year in a speech to the Royal Television Society on Monday.

He said: “Of course, it means that, despite budget pressures, we will prioritize the big national events – from the Coronation, Eurovision, the Proms and Glastonbury, to the Olympics and the Euros, or Strictly or Gladiators, Children in Need or even That Big Drama: Election Night.

The episode was filmed in front of a live studio audience at a stadium in Sheffield last year, and fans watching on TV will only have a little time to find out who the final winners of the show are.

The show is a reboot of the iconic sports show that ran from 1992 to 2000.

Gladiators: The Grand Final takes place on Saturday 30 March from 5.50pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
