Police have arrested a third man who was allegedly involved in the violent home invasion and beating of an elderly grandmother a fortnight ago.
Joel Leslie Painter, 36, believed to be the latest high-profile person wanted over the alleged attack, has been charged with a string of offenses following his dramatic arrest on Sunday morning.
Ninette Simons, 73, and her husband Phillip, 76, were targeted in a home invasion on April 16 when a trio of men allegedly entered their Girrawheen home in Perth posing as police officers.
Western Australian Police launched a public appeal to help locate Painter last week following the ordeal.
The chase ended when Painter was arrested on Sunday in the neighboring northern Perth suburb of Mirrabooka.

Painter, a former boxer, was charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated burglary, arresting someone with intent to obtain a benefit, aggravated assault resulting in bodily injury and impersonating a law enforcement officer. police.
He is expected to appear in Joondalup Magistrates Court on Monday.
Police had already charged three other men in connection with their alleged involvement in the attack, including former immigration detainee Majid Jamshidi Doukoshkan.
Police allege Doukoshkan, Painter and a third man, Seyed Younes Taham, 38, posed as police officers to enter the Simons’ home in north Perth.
The group is alleged to have assaulted Ms Simmons and stolen $200,000 worth of jewelery before fleeing the home on foot.
The cancer survivor was allegedly held on the ground, handcuffed and punched in the face several times, causing her to lose consciousness.
Her husband was also apparently tied up during the ordeal.
Almost three weeks later, Mrs Simons is still reeling from the alleged attack which left her battered and bruised.
“I’m not the same person I used to be, I can barely stand or walk,” he said.
Doukoshkan, a Kuwaiti-born man, faced Perth Magistrates Court in February on previous unrelated charges.
He was granted bail ahead of his alleged involvement in last month’s home invasion, prompting federal Immigration Minister Andrew Giles and Home Affairs Minister Clare O’Neil to increasingly resign. for the matter.
Doukoshkan was remanded in custody and will appear in court again on June 10.
His co-accused Taham will also reappear in court on the same date.
