One of three men accused of beating an elderly woman unconscious in her own home has been revealed to be a detainee released from an immigration detention centre.
Majid Jamshidi Doukoshkan, 43, was one of 149 people released from an immigration detention center after the High Court ruled against indefinite detention late last year.
Jamshidi Doukoshkan appeared in a Perth court in February after breaching some of his bail conditions.
He faced court again from custody on Monday after allegedly breaking into the home of Ninette, 73, and Philip Simons, 76, in Girrawheen, north of Perth, on April 16.
Mr and Mrs Simons were inside their home on Allinson Drive when three men allegedly posing as police officers knocked on their door.
As soon as Mr. Simons opened the door, he was allegedly pushed to the ground and his hands tied behind his back.
Ms Simons was allegedly attacked shortly afterwards and the group pinned her to the ground and punched her in the face several times, rendering her unconscious.

Over the weekend, police arrested four people, including Majid Jamshidi Doukoshkan, 43, one of the detained immigrants released from detention.
It is further alleged that the thieves stole more than $200,000 in jewelry and other belongings before fleeing the home on foot.
Mrs Simons said the attack left her traumatized and seriously injured.
‘I’m not the same person I used to be, I can barely stand or walk. “I used to be able to go dancing and it’s very unlikely I’ll do it again,” she said.
“The dizziness is driving me crazy.”

He appeared in Joondalup Magistrates Court on Monday charged with aggravated burglary, assault, detaining someone, theft and impersonating a public official.
He was remanded in custody to appear in court again on June 10.
Mr Doukoshkan was one of the detainees released from Yongah Hill detention center in Perth last November.
A Superior Court ruling found it illegal for detainees who could not be deported to remain in detention indefinitely, and he was released into the community with dozens of other detainees.
On March 22, a court order requiring Mr. Doukoshkan to remain at a fixed address was suspended after having been in effect for about a month.

Detectives and Tactical Response Group officers executed several search warrants in Nollamara.
During a search of a house on Newhaven Way, police allegedly found handcuffs, a wallet with a WA Police badge and a WA Police fedora.
Several pieces of jewelry were also apparently recovered.
A 38-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were arrested at the home.
The 38-year-old man was charged with several crimes related to the alleged aggravated home robbery.
At around 4.40pm on Sunday, another search warrant was executed at Bangalla Place in Balcatta, where a 48-year-old woman was arrested upon entry.
Police will allege the woman drove three men to and from Girrawheen’s home on the night of the incident.
A short time later, at around 5.30pm, a 43-year-old man was arrested during the execution of a search warrant on Cape St in Osborne Park. Jewelry was apparently recovered from the house and he was later charged as well.
As a result of an extensive investigation, several other people were also charged with related crimes.

WA Liberal Leader Libby Mettam said Premier Roger Cook had broken his promise that police would closely monitor those detained in the WA community.
An Australian Border Force spokesperson said the Department of Home Affairs was aware that WA Police arrested a person with a Bridging R Visa on April 28.
“Community safety remains the absolute priority for Australian Border Force and the Department of Home Affairs, and we will continue to work closely with our state and territory partners,” the spokesperson said.
Investigations are ongoing and a suspected criminal remains outstanding.
