The Danish Royal Family has released a video on social media celebrating the reign of Queen Margaret to the tune of Cyndi Lauper’s Girl Just Wanna Have Fun.
Shared via the real Instagram account @detdanskekongehus, the clip It has obtained more than 77,000 likes in less than a day.
In the short video, the former queen, who surprised with her abdication that came after her 52-year reign, is seen carrying out a series of duties.
It bears the legend: ‘Special moments in the reign of Her Majesty the Queen.
‘Tomorrow, the Queen will step down as Queen of Denmark and leave the throne to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince.
The Instagram video (pictured) shared several clips from the monarch’s impressive 52-year reign.
Many of the clips show the royal beaming as she takes part in her royal duties, including speeches.
A clip showed the royal beaming as she greeted her audience, waving to the gathered crowd as she posed on the palace balcony.
Among the variety of clips, there were images showing the stunning dresses and jewelry that the royals wore during some engagements.

Among the special moments captured in the clip was Margrethe dancing with dignitaries. She was even seen posing with the late Queen Elizabeth II, who died at Balmoral in September last year.
An image from the balcony showed the former monarch laughing and waving with her family. Meanwhile, another clip showed her cheering on the international soccer team.
Margrethe surprised royal watchers with the news of her abdication through a statement posted on social media on New Year’s Eve.
It said: ‘I’ve decided now is the right time. On January 14, 2024, 52 years after following my beloved father, I will step back as Queen of Denmark. She left the throne to my son, Crown Prince Frederik.
‘Tonight, first of all, I would like to express my gratitude.
‘Thank you for the overwhelming warmth and support I have received over the years.
‘Thank you to the changing governments with whom collaboration has always been gratifying, and thanks to Parliament, which has always placed its trust in me.
During her abdication statement, the Queen said she wanted to say “thank you for the overwhelming warmth and support I have received over all these years.”
Today, January 14, the transfer of power occurred and Margaret’s son, Frederick, became king.
‘Thank you to so many, many people who on special occasions and in everyday life have embraced me and my family with kind words and thoughts, turning the years into a string of pearls.
‘The support and assistance I have received over the years has been crucial to the success of my task.
It is my hope that the new King and Queen receive the same trust and devotion that I have received. They deserve it!
Denmark deserves it! I will conclude my New Year’s speech as usual: GOD BLESS DENMARK, GOD BLESS YOU ALL.’
The transfer of power took place today, with the new King and Queen Consort taking on their new roles.
