A 15-year-old girl died after being hit by a van.
The teenager was walking along the Bruxner Highway in East Lismore on the New South Wales mid-north coast when she was hit by a trailer at around 5pm on Wednesday.
Witnesses performed first aid before paramedics arrived and rushed her to Lismore Base Hospital, where she died.
The 42-year-old driver of the van and trailer was taken to Lismore Base Hospital for mandatory tests.
“Officers from the Richmond Police District have established a crime scene and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are continuing,” NSW Police said in a statement.
