The girl stays in the hospital while forensic analysis determines what she has consumed.

The father was accused of mistreatment with bodily injury and released on bail at Raymond Terrace Local Court on Tuesday.

He is scheduled to appear on the same court again on May 27.

An NSW police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia that the investigation is still ongoing.
