From actress to anchor! Gina Rodriguez shows peace sign as she goes with Al Roker to her guest host on the Today show
Gina Rodriguez was up early Monday morning.
The beauty appeared on the Today show in NYC as a guest host to discuss a variety of topics with Al Roker and Shienelle Jones.
The actress talked about everything from gender pay inequality to portraying a hedgehog to dressing up as a unicorn at work.

Her movie Ferdinand will be released on December 15 and also features the voice work of WWE star John Cena as the titular bull, Anthony Anderson and Bobby Cannavale.
“ I’m playing Una the Hedgehog helping him escape the bull farm, ” Gina revealed, before admitting to feeling a bit isolated from taking on her role for the 20th Century Fox feature film.
“It’s a little lonely at times because you’re just there alone,” she said of the recording process. ‘It is difficult. It is certainly a difficult medium. ‘

Gina discussed the importance of being a positive example, without naming names, and revealed that she turned down a high-profile series because she didn’t like the way Latinas were portrayed in the show.
“I’ve had great role models in my house,” she said while feeding her mother.
She continued, “I mean my two sisters are incredible giants – one is a private equity firm, the other is a doctor and runs the Westside Family Health Center.”

‘All that I’ve been blessed [with] as an actress I have used to create awareness to empower women, ‘said Gina.
However, she wasn’t just talking about highlighting gender inequalities, but also about the injustice towards Latinos in the United States.
The Deepwater Horizon actress said she plans to use her platform as a visible Latina actress to shed light on issues pertaining to Spanish talent in the entertainment industry, “ especially now in our political climate. ”

“I work on Jane for 14-16 hours a day,” she said. ‘We bring a little fun. Friday onesies. ‘
