The garlic festival shooter went on a shopping trip to various local stores before the massacre, police revealed.
Santino Legan, 19, "acted himself" and did not have an accomplice as previously suggested, police commissioner Scot Smithee said during a press conference Tuesday.
The police have obtained images of local shops that only show Legan in the hours before Sunday's disaster, with three and 12 injured.
The 19-year-old is inhabited by police law enforcement in the days prior to the shooting about 10 miles north of Hawthorne, Nevada. When the police searched the premises, they found the cause of a massive attack, the SFChronical reported.
They discovered items such as a gas mask, bulletproof vest and empty boxes of ammunition, as well as reading material about white supremacy and radical Islam, sources of federal law enforcement revealed.

Santino Legan, 19, (left in a yearbook photo) was identified as the shooter who opened fire on crowds at the Sunday festival. He was shot by the police in seconds when he started firing an AK-47 that he had legally purchased in Nevada on July 9
Chief Smithee said: "Our research makes us believe that no second person was involved. I don't think I can say that with absolute certainty at the moment because we are still following leads.
& # 39; We were able to follow his movements in the city prior to the incident, including several different stores and locations that he visited prior to this shooting incident and in each case we had video and he was alone, he was with no one otherwise, so that is a kind of support for the thought now that he was acting alone. & # 39;
However, he emphasized that the police do not want to discourage anyone from coming forward if they thought they had seen another suspect, and added: & We do not want to exclude that as at least a possibility until we have exhausted every lead that provided to us. & # 39;
When asked what the shooter was doing before the shooting, he said: "I don't have many specific details, but he went shopping in many stores in the city. I don't have as detailed what he bought, but those stores now have video and so the researchers were able to withdraw from the time of the incident. & # 39;
Twelve people were also wounded on Sunday when the presumed 19-year-old shooter, Santino William Legan, slipped into the annual festival and unloaded an assault-style weapon before the police shot him. Festival goers flee the scene after gunshots have been fired
Keyla Salazar (left), 13, was shot during the shooting after she stayed to help an older family member. The oldest victim killed was Trevor Irby (right), 25, who graduated in 2017 from Keuka College in the state of New York
The youngest victim, Stephen Romero (photo), described by his grandmother as a friendly, happy and playful child, had just celebrated his 6th birthday in June in Legoland in Southern California
The chief said he didn't know if Legan had bought things for the attack, but said he had shopped in "big box stores." The chief also said the police found a second gun from the abandoned Legan car.
The shot gun was also purchased in Nevada – along with the AK47 variant rifle he used to perform the rampage in which two children – Stephen Romero, six, Keyla Salazar, 13 – and 25-year-old Trevor Irby were killed.
The police also found a "bag of extra ammunition" dumped in the creek next to the festival gate, where Legan would have broken the event on Sunday afternoon.
Meanwhile, it turned out that Legan's brother, Rosino Legan, was a successful high school boxer in Watsonville. In 2014, he participated in the American Boxing National Championships in Spokane, Washington and was reported two years ago as training for the 2020 Olympics.

Initially, police said 15 people were injured in the shooting, but now they have changed the number to 12. Of the injured, there are & # 39; multiple & # 39; now released from the hospital, but at least one victim and & # 39; maybe more than one & # 39; are still in a & # 39; very serious & # 39; condition, said Chief Smithee.
Meanwhile, the three & # 39; veteran & # 39; policemen who managed to shoot Legan before he caused more slaughter have been placed on administrative leave to recover from the trauma of the event.
Chief Smithee said: "I did not want to put them in the position to go back to work and handle all this. I think it's very emotional for them. & # 39;

Craig Fair, responsible FBI deputy agent, said researchers are still searching Legan's activities online, but he & # 39; has no reason to believe & # 39; that he focused on minorities, but it is not excluded as the motive. He added that & # 39; no early indication & # 39; was of what the motive might be.
Asked how they hope to determine Legan's motive, Special Agent Fair said they are currently trying to get information from his phone, computer, and other devices.
He said: "That will depend on a number of things, especially the review of digital media has historically been very revealing in terms of one's thinking, ideological beliefs, and intentions.
& # 39; We must use computers, towers, thumb drives, the phone to get a holistic view of him and with whom he was in contact, what feelings and thoughts he shared with others or cataloged for his own consumption & # 39;
Asked how long this can take, he said: "It depends on how fast we can reach the phone, it also depends on the ease with which we can enter one of the other digital ones."
After the shooting, law enforcement experts called on event organizers to review their emergency plans to see if they could make additional security improvements because the peak of the summer and the fair season provide outdoor environments that are notoriously difficult to secure
Recommendations for an overwatch position and security outside the location of the event are similar to proposed improvements after shooting at Route 91 Harvest Festival. First answers to the scene on Sunday
The researchers would not be attracted by the Instagram account that has since been deleted, in which Legan apparently placed a photo of the Garlic festival before the shooting and a photo of a Smokey Bear sign with fire hazard warning with a caption instructing people to read the book & # 39; Might is Right & # 39 ;, a far right, white supremacist book.
Special agent Fair would not confirm that Legan's account was, he said: & I can't comment on that because I don't know the answer, but the suspicion is yes, I understand what you're asking but I don't know have the answer. & # 39;
Chief Smithee added that they are not yet prepared to say that Legan had white supremacist beliefs based on the Instagram post, he said: & as far as the ideology and accounts I am not willing to do, because that is one source of information, but we have so many different sources of information and they do not all match. & # 39;
He said he did not know who deleted the Instagram account.
