The Salt Path is the film adaptation of Raynor Winn’s novel of the same name.
It tells the profound true story of Raynor and her husband Moth, who decided to take a 630-mile journey along the Cornish, Devon and Dorset coast.
Sadly, the couple were left homeless in their 50s after a business deal with a friend went bad and they lost the Welsh farm where they had raised their two children.
His situation worsened when Moth was diagnosed with corticobasal degeneration, a rare and incurable degenerative brain disease.
They decided to hike the Southwest Coast Path, living on the bare essentials with just a tent for shelter.
The couple soon rediscovered their happiness, while Moth’s condition even improved as they made the challenging journey.

Movie: The Salt Path is the film adaptation of Raynor Winn’s novel of the same name.
Raynor decided to write an account of her story, originally intended just for her husband as a birthday present.
His novel The Salt Path was published in 2018 and soon shot to the top of the bestseller lists, selling over 1.5 million copies.
It would go on to be shortlisted for the Costa Book Awards and the Wainwright Award, and won the inaugural RSL Christopher Bland Award.
Writing for The Mail On Sunday earlier this year, Raynor said their journey on The Salt Path had left them feeling more connected to nature.
He added: “And somehow, without our realizing it, the anguish and despair was gone too, left behind on the many headlands we had crossed.”
