“I have Chiesa and son, Thuram and son, Weah and son”: Gianluigi Buffon leaves San Siro with Daniel Maldini’s shirt adding to his collection of father’s and son’s jerseys
Gianluigi Buffon walked away from the San Siro with a smile on Thursday evening, after Cristiano Ronaldo scored a late penalty against AC Milan in the Coppa Italia.
However, it was not only the result that the Juventus veteran was happy with when he walked away with the shirt of Daniel Maldini – son of AC Milan legend Paolo.
The young person’s shirt becomes the fourth in a collection of father and son’s Buffon.

It is a rich sign of the age of the 42-year-old that he has already collected three father-son combinations: George and Timothy Weah, Lillian and Marcus Thuram and the shirts of Enrico and Federico Chiesa.
After the game, Buffon told reporters: ‘In my collection I have Enrico Chiesa and his son, George Weah and his son, Paolo Maldini and his son. Now I am waiting for their grandchildren! ”
Controversy struck in the final moments on Thursday after referee Paolo Valeri awarded the visitors a penalty after consultation with VAR, after a hard handball.

Replays showed that Ronaldo’s scissors kick had hit AC Milan defender Davide Calabria’s arm from scratch.
Ronaldo stepped on to score the spot kick to cancel Ante Rebic’s 61st minute volley.
The two sides will compete against each other in the second stage in Turin on March 4.
