Social media users have criticized a strange-looking new house in London that has six different types of “pick and mix” windows on the front.

The woman who came across the strange sight was doing the Green Link Walk earlier this week, a 15-mile walking and cycling route from Epping Forest to Peckham town centre.

She stopped in her tracks to take a photo of the ‘nightmare’ at home, before sharing it online.

The X (formerly Twitter) user, who goes by the name Dee Dee May (@deedeelea), wrote, “I saw this house when I was doing the #GreenLinkWalk,” along with a surprised emoji.

The house, which appears to have three stories, is strangely thin, with six windows crowded together in front, all of different shapes and sizes.

From two very thin and long windows on the right side of the house to another triangular one sticking out on the upper floor, right in the middle of the house, the design is definitely unique.

Adding to the creepy effect is the rusty car that appears to have been taken over by the neglected and out-of-control garden.

There is also a tall black metal door on the left side of the asymmetrical house, but there appears to be no door at the front of the house.

A second added: “Like something off a film set,” and Dee Dee May admitted: “I had a nightmare about it last night.”

The image was quickly shared on the X account, @plannings***, where it has already been seen by more than 42,000 people.

Users joked: ‘pick and mix windows!’ and ‘Architect: At some point there were drugs involved’.

Another wrote: ‘With a view like that I’m surprised they wanted windows!’

Meanwhile, someone else commented: ‘Someone has gone to a lot of trouble with the roof projections and that upper (bay) window – bless them.’

Another, unimpressed, joked: “There isn’t a single aspect of this house that isn’t an abomination.”

“I need to see the planning drawings for this” and “I think what they need are the doors,” others insisted.

Another user reasoned: “Unless it’s a huge prism, I don’t see the tip of the triangular window.”

Others joked: ‘It looks like the Harry Potter bus, half tightened!’ and ‘Honey, I shrunk the house.’

However, some people were fans of the unique design, with one user asking, “Am I the only one who loves this house?” and another insists: ‘That’s art, that’s it.’

The debate comes just after another newly built home was ridiculed after pictures revealed it had a very awkward design flaw.

The six-bedroom new build, which was built in 2019, was labeled “embarrassing” and “shit” by critics who even questioned whether it was designed by AI.

Shown alongside its architect’s designs, an image of the single-family home was posted on X, formerly Twitter, on an urban planning site.

A recent photograph shows that there is a meter-high gap from the ground to the front door, meaning residents face a difficult task getting in and out.
