The German U17 national team meets defending champions France, Portugal and Scotland in group C of the European Football Championship. That was the result of the draw in Budapest.
The tournament will take place in Hungary from May 17th to June 2nd. In the crucial qualifying round for the European Championship in March, Germany qualified for the tournament as group runners-up behind Spain.
The German U17s were last defeated in the 2022 tournament in the quarterfinals on penalties by eventual European champions France. The young Germans won the last title in this age group in 2009.
“We have already played against many teams that have qualified for the European Championship and measured ourselves against them on an equal footing,” said selection coach Christian Wück. “So we don’t have to hide from any team and therefore expect chances.”
