The ‘world’s sexiest athlete’ is officially headed to Paris for the Olympics.
German track star Alica Schmidt, who previously went by the catchy nickname, posted a video on her TikTok account over the weekend in which she learned she had been included in the German Olympic team.
In the video, Schmidt is on the phone, visibly emotional and wiping tears from her eyes.
Schmidt also paces while talking on the phone, trying to digest the news as quickly as he can.
“When you get the call that you’ve been named to the Olympic team,” Schmidt captioned the video with a tear-filled emoji.

Schmidt recently learned that she had been officially included in the German track and field team for the Olympic Games.
Schmidt had already qualified for the Olympics in May, and the recent call-up, probably from a higher-ranking German Olympic committee, only officially confirmed her place in Paris.
Australian magazine Busted Coverage voted Schmidt, 25, the “World’s Sexiest Female Athlete” in 2017. She has since gone viral on social media multiple times, with more than seven million followers on Instagram and TikTok combined.
Schmidt also qualified for the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo, but did not compete at the world showpiece.
The German has qualified this year for the 4×400-metre relay. If she takes part officially on the oval, it will be her first time competing on the track’s biggest stage.
Schmidt commented further on social media about her upcoming Olympic debut.
“My biggest dream has come true. In just one month I will be in Paris and creating memories that will last a lifetime,” said Schmidt. “This thought has been my motivation every day for several years, reminding me why it is important to never give up on achieving my goals and to push myself.”
“No matter how big your dreams are, if you stay committed and believe in yourself, good things will come your way,” Schmidt continued.
