The German father of two killed in a plane crash on Mallorca is said to have celebrated his 43rd birthday when the helicopter in which he was driving and a light plane collided.
The crash happened shortly after the helicopter left the luxury Hotel La Reserva Rotana Manacor Sunday afternoon local time.
The man's family was also on board, including a boy, reportedly about nine or ten years old and a girl of seven or eight years old.
& # 39; It was the 43rd birthday of the deceased and the two families had provided two helicopters to pick them up, one by one family and one for the other, & # 39; a well-placed source told The Daily Mail.

& # 39; The other family eventually went by road because one of the helicopters had capacity for five and the other could only transport three, including the pilot.
& # 39; I understood that it was a last-minute decision that the man whose birthday it was had to take the larger helicopter with his family and the other family would have to catch them in a car, probably because it was his birthday, & # 39; the source added.
Another report said the family wanted to see Mallorca from the air before having lunch with friends at Camp de Mar near Andratx, where model Claudia Schiffer and British film producer Matthew Vaughn have a vacation home.
The collision between the light aircraft and the helicopter took place after 1.30 p.m. local time near Inca in the middle of the island.
There has been no immediate official confirmation of the man's name by the authorities, but he has been locally mentioned as a well-known Munich businessman named August Inselkammer, presumably the son of brewer entrepreneur Franz Inselkammer.
According to local reports, the police from Inca reported that the plane fell on a farm, on the road from Sencelles to Sineu near Inca in the middle of the island
A man named Jannik Inselkammer, then named as a cousin of August, was killed by an avalanche in Canada in March 2014 when he was only 45 years old.
He was then described as the son of the Munich brewer, Hans Inselkammer.
The Italian helicopter pilot who transports the family is locally named as Cedric Leoni.
The seven who died in the crash would include two people who were traveling in the ULM.
The pilot of the ULM is named locally as a Spaniard from the east coast city of Valencia named Juanjo Vidal, who according to local reports was traveling with a Spanish friend.
No official statement has been made about the nationalities of the dead.
His unnamed wife is believed to have been at the airport in Benissalem where it takes off and saw the plane crash.
