Barcelona’s woes when he was defeated by Atletico Madrid got worse after Gerard Pique was forced to relinquish with a knee injury as the club’s injury crisis worsened.
The 33-year-old was driven from the field in tears in the Wanda Metropolitano with a potentially serious knee injury following a bizarre collision with Angel Correa.
Sport suggest that Pique will face a six-month layoff, adding to the growing list of absentees for Barca, already without Ansu Fati and Samuel Umtiti, while Sergi Roberto also got away in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat.
