Georgie Grasso was crowned the winner of The Great British Bake Off 2024 during Tuesday night’s final.
The 34-year-old pediatric nurse from Carmarthenshire, Wales, beat fellow finalists Christiaan de Vries and Dylan Bachelet.
The mother-of-three made history by being the first Welshwoman to win the show and also reach the final.
Georgie seemed shocked after her victory and was quickly hugged by her husband and children.
She said: ‘I can’t believe I won it. It means everything, it’s just amazing. I can’t believe I won the Great British Bake Off. I’ve always had so many doubts.
“You make excuses and for once I thought, no, I’m going to try this and put everything into it.” I’ve proven to myself that I can do something.’

After her win, judge Prue Leith said: “Georgie did what she does best – beautifully made classic British baking and won, and rightly so.”
During the show, the three finalists had to prepare sweet and savory scones for the signing, afternoon tea for the technician and a three-tier hanging cake for their show.
Georgie impressed the judges with all of her challenges, but they were particularly impressed with her ‘summer gardens’ inspired hanging cake.
After tasting it, Prue said, “It’s absolutely delicious.” It has a lot of padding,” and also called it “soft and luxurious.”
