Carson Beck will leave Georgia and enter the 2025 NFL draft, the Bulldogs quarterback announced Saturday.
Beck, 23, took to Instagram to thank his teammates and coaches at Georgia and wrote that he will remain with the Bulldogs as they head into the College Football Playoff quarterfinals against No. 7 Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl on Wednesday.
First of all I want to thank God for blessing me with the opportunity to play the game I love. Through the ups and downs, the highs and the lows, I am eternally grateful for everything this game produces and provides. Football has taught me lessons that will last a lifetime and has made me the person I am today.
I am very grateful to my family and loved ones for the support they have given me during this journey. You have always supported me no matter the circumstances, and I can’t thank you enough for that.
To Coach Smart, Coach Bobo, and the rest of the coaches who were a part of my tenure at UGA, thank you for your wisdom, your unwavering support, and most importantly, the time you have sacrificed not only for me, but for everyone. . others who came before and after. Thank you for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to lead this team. It has been a blessing and I will be forever grateful.
To my teammates, I have been fortunate to play with not only so many talented guys, but also guys who are good people. So many bonds have been built that will last a lifetime and the people in that locker room are what I will miss the most. I enjoyed every second of being with you and I love you like brothers. It has been an honor and I wouldn’t want to go to war with anyone else. There is still unfinished business this season and I will be here to support in any way I can, finish strong!
The last five years at the University of Georgia have been nothing short of a dream come true and I will always cherish the memories that have been made. Thank you Dawg Nation for the time I’ve been here and to those who have supported me and believed in me, thank you. It has been an incredible journey and all these moments have finally led me to take the next step in my football career. With that being said, I will be declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft. Come on, folks! #AO1

Beck underwent successful surgery to repair the anterior cruciate ligament in his right elbow on Monday and has been ruled out for the remainder of the season. He suffered the injury in the first half of the SEC championship game against Texas on Dec. 7 and is expected to make a full recovery.
Gunner Stockton, a redshirt sophomore who replaced Beck in the Texas game, will start against Notre Dame.
Beck, who is in his fifth year at Georgia, will turn pro despite having another year of eligibility remaining due to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic.
In 13 games this season, Beck threw for 3,485 yards, 28 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He was 24-3 as a starter the last two seasons, was a two-time Manning Award finalist and finishes with 7,426 career passing yards and 52 touchdowns.
Beck wasn’t in the first round of Yahoo Sports’ latest NFL mock draft, but if he’s able to show scouts he can throw before April, he could improve his stock.
