George Santos launched a series of tweets blaming Long Island Republicans for losing a seat that became vacant when he was expelled from Congress.

Long Island liar George Santos took to social media to criticize Republicans for losing a seat left vacant when he was expelled from Congress.

Democrat Tom Suozzi succeeded the disgraced former congressman in Tuesday night’s special election, beating Republican Mazi Pilip to represent New York’s 3rd Congressional District.

As the votes were being counted, Santos launched a series of tweets to express his frustration.

‘-1,’ the former US representative tweeted when it became clear that Democrats would win another House seat.

He took shots at congressmen Anthony D’Esposito and Nick LaLota, who had campaigned in an effort to drum up support for Pilip.

‘Hello, Americans! Please thank these two gems for losing a seat in the house today!’ Santos wrote above a photo of the two men, originally posted on D’Esposito’s account.

He also called on the chairman of the Nassau County Republican Committee to resign following the defeat.

Three days before the crucial special election, it seemed Santos’ mind was elsewhere.

He live-tweeted his reactions to Usher’s Super Bowl halftime performance on Sunday night, commenting every time another performer arrived.

‘Luda is in the MOFO House!’ Santos wrote. ‘Lil Jon is in the house! Holy shit!’

His successor, Suozzi, regained a seat in the 3rd Congressional District that he held for three terms before running, unsuccessfully, for governor.

Citing his record as a legislator, Suozzi campaigned on promises to protect the environment, care for veterans and ensure access to reproductive health care.

He served as mayor of Glen Cove, a small town on Long Island, before rising to the position of Nassau County Executive. Suozzi was elected to the House of Representatives in 2016, 2018 and 2020.

Santos mocked the Democrat online before it became clear Suozzi would reclaim his seat.

“Watching the #NY3 debate and Tom Suozzi sound angry and pompous,” Santos wrote on February 8. “Bye Tom.”

Pilip, a mother of seven, was elected to the Nassau County Legislature in 2021 and again in 2023.

He was born in Ethiopia, moved to Israel and served in the Israel Defense Forces before coming to the United States. Supporting Israel and opposing illegal immigration were central elements of his campaign.

“Mazi needs to increase his queens vote to 46-48% to achieve this,” Santos tweeted as the prospect of his defeat loomed.

He was expelled from Congress in December when He was confronted with his extensive history of lying and was hit with multiple criminal charges, including laundering campaign funds and donor fraud.

More than 100 Republicans joined Democrats to oust the serial fabulist, bringing the final count to 311-114.

Santos stormed out of the House minutes before the vote concluded and warned reporters that the House was “setting a dangerous new precedent for itself.”

His lies were exposed in painstaking detail in a report by the U.S. House of Representatives Ethics Committee. They include fabricating family ties to the Holocaust and claiming that his mother died on 9/11.

Santos has pleaded not guilty to 23 charges in federal court, including identity theft, charging his donors’ credit cards without their approval and filing false campaign reports. He is not expected to stand trial until next September.

According to the House Ethics Committee, Santos “sought to fraudulently exploit all aspects of his House candidacy for his own personal financial benefit.”

The scathing report accuses him of diverting campaign money to pay for Botox treatments, designer handbags, Onlyfans purchases and cash withdrawals at a casino.

The Republican used $3,000 of campaign funds for an Airbnb in the Hamptons, while another multimillion-dollar transfer to his business was spent on Ferragamo luxury goods and rentals.

Santos is also accused of inflating six personal loans for his campaign, claiming they were worth $80,000 when they were only worth $3,500.

The other lies he told cover nearly every aspect of his life, including having Jewish and Ukrainian heritage and surviving a brain tumor.
