Hello travelers! He Genshin Impact The development team is back and today we would like to bring you the latest information on the new landscapes, stories, and companions that will be introduced in Genshin Impact version 4.1 To the Stars Shining in the Depths on September 27.
With the latest update, the area north of the prosperous Court of Fontaine will be open to exploration. This area features a huge underwater fortress inhabited by exiles, as well as mysterious ruins floating in the air, abandoned after a fatal laboratory accident. The two new five-star playable characters, Neuvillette and Wriothesley, will also play important roles in the Archon Quests that await you.
Far from Fontaine, the residents of Liyue and Mondstadt hold a poetry festival together to honor friendship and love. To celebrate the upcoming third anniversary of Genshin Impact with all Travelers, we have prepared a special daily login event for you. Participate to receive up to 10 Intertwined Fates, 1600 Primogems, and 2 exclusive gadgets as a token of our appreciation.
Danger lurking beneath the waters
Deep in the vast waters of the Liffey region lies Meropide Fortress. This metal building detains criminals from all over Fontaine, but exercises self-government, independent of Fontaine’s legal system. Be careful of spotlights when approaching the Fortress.
However, Meropide Fortress is not just a place for prisoners. Inside, you can admire an intricate network of gears and pipes that span multiple levels to the depths of the Fortress, where more of the site’s functions and mysteries are revealed. Our main story also continues here as we search for Childe. Wriothesley, the chief administrator of Meropide Fortress, and Fatui Harbinger Arlecchino will also make their debut in version 4.1.
In addition to Meropide Fortress, the vast waters of the Liffey region are also home to a beautiful but dangerous monster. With ghostly beauty, the Millennial Pearl Seahorse can leap high into the air and unleash ferocious electrical attacks.
The great ambition of the Fontaine Research Institute
Hovering in mid-air, the allogravity-condensed body of water and the remains of the former Fontaine Research Institute tell of the catastrophic consequences of an experiment gone wrong. Throughout its long history, the Fontaine Research Institute has been searching for solutions to survive the prophesied flood that will dissolve the people of this nation, and harnessing Arkhium’s energy to defy gravity was once considered the key. Unfortunately, this effort tragically resulted in a massive explosion, which sent several giant blocks of allogravity-condensed bodies of water and ruins ascending into the sky. However, these floating bodies of water have also preserved aquatic life and parts of the former institute, which can be explored to aid current research at the Fontaine Research Institute.
The new Experimental Field Generator boss is also one of these holdovers. It was once a device used to counteract the effects of gravity, but it has gotten out of control since the accident. In combat, you will experience weightlessness effects that will come in handy to jump higher and dodge the boss’s attacks.
Ludex and Administrator of Meropide Fortress
As the plot of version 4.1 develops, two characters in high positions will come to your aid. Neuvillette is the Iudex who oversees Fontaine’s legal system, while Wriothesley is the administrator of Meropide Fortress who keeps an eye on all the outlaws.
The Chief Justice, or also known as Iudex Neuvillette, is a highly revered figure in Fontaine, known for his unwavering impartiality. However, Neuvillette has a soft spot for Melusines and likes to taste the waters of all of Teyvat. More stories about Neuvillette and Melusines can be found in their Story Quest Diluvies chapter.
In combat, Neuvillette is a skilled wielder of Hydro Catalyst. His charged attack can release a stream of torrents at the cost of his health to attack all enemies in his path. Her elemental ability and his elemental burst can also generate drops of fountain water that can be absorbed by his charged attack to heal and speed up the charge.
Another new companion, Wriothesley, is known as the Administrator of Meropide Fortress. His brains and strength have earned him the respect of the citizens, as well as the outlaws. Thanks to a series of renovations carried out by him, the Meropide Fortress has become a living space where vicious criminals and the underprivileged are cared for. You can find more information about this Duke and Lord of Meropide Fortress in his Story Quest Cerberus Chapter.
In combat, Wriothesley excels by combining his melee attacks with the power of Cryo and his catalyst. Her normal and charged attacks can deal cryo damage, while her elemental ability attracts enemies and increases their normal attack at the cost of her HP. When her health drops to a precarious level, she can deliver a powerful blow to restore HP.
For version 4.1 Event Wishes, Neuvillette will debut the first half with the reprise of Hu Tao, while the second half will see the debut of Wriothesley and the reprise of Venti.
A poetry festival of friendship and love
Taking a momentary break from adventures in Fontaine, a poetry festival will greet you with beautiful words and friendship from Liyue and Mondstadt. To fulfill the promise made at the previous Lantern Rite, Hu Tao and Venti team up to host a poetry festival, telling a touching story about friendship and love that stood the test of time. Festive activities and mini-games will also be available, such as a special dart-throwing game called Hundred-Pace Hurling Rites and Mending Painting Prospects to reconstruct paintings based on the Teyvat landscape. By accumulating Poetry Gala Fervor from those mini-games, Travelers will have a chance to obtain the exclusive 4-star catalyst Ballad of the Boundless Blue.
As Genshin Impact is about to turn three years old, we would like to thank each of you for supporting us in the past, present, and future. The special daily login event with up to Intertwined Fates ×10 will return once again. Also remember to check your in-game mailbox later, as we will be giving away Primogems ×1,600, Fragile Resin ×4, and two unique gadgets, the Handheld Streamlined Jelly Bubble Generator and the Octobaby Itty Bitty as tokens of our shared memories.
