In the ever-evolving healthcare landscape in the Philippines, one steadfast promise has endured: Generika Drugstore’s unwavering commitment to its fundamental vision of empowering Filipinos to better care for their health by providing access to quality, affordable medicines and other essential healthcare supplies. This is the promise of Ginhawang Generika that formed the basis for its founding in 2003 by Teodoro Ferrer and Julien Belo.
Twenty years after its founding, Generika Drugstore, now a member of Ayala Healthcare Group (AC Health), celebrates “Dalawang Dekada ng Ginhawa.” To commemorate this important milestone, Generika Drogisterij organized a National Libracht Konsulta Day in its store network last September 23, giving its customers access to free consultations with its partner doctors.
National Libracht Konsulta Day: an expression of gratitude
For years, Generika Drogisterij has been implementing the planned Libracht Konsulta, a main program of its stores to help its customers manage their health needs.
Norberto Valencia, a 58-year-old father, expressed how grateful he is for the services of Generika Drogisterij, such as the Libracht Konsulta.
“We have seen the need for our customers to also consult a doctor, but for various reasons some are unable to do so. We thought we could meet that need by offering access to free consultations with a partner doctor near our stores at a certain time. What better way to celebrate our anniversary than by holding a Libracht Konsulta simultaneously across our store network, not only as a way to thank our customers for their support, but also to reaffirm our commitment to remaining their healthcare partner,” said Atty. Yet Abarca, president and CEO of Generika Drugstore.
Dr. Fides V. Buenafe, head of the Department of Health (DOH) Pharmaceutical Division, who attended the opening ceremony of the National Libracht Konsulta Day at the Generika Drugstore Signal Village, Taguig City branch, commended the company’s commitment in reaching the underserved communities. She said: “The Ministry of Health commends Generika Drugstore for their invaluable contribution to improving access to healthcare through the National Libracht Konsulta programme. This initiative aligns with our mission to promote equitable healthcare for all and significantly contributes to our collective efforts to achieve a healthy Filipinas.”
This was echoed by DOH Secretary Ted Herbosa, who described Generika Drugstore as a beacon of hope for those seeking affordable healthcare solutions. “Through our shared commitment to providing access to quality health care, we have helped improve the health and well-being of countless individuals and families across the country.”
Upholding the Ginhawang Generika Promise
Libracht Konsulta is proof of the different ways in which Generika Drogisterij has been supplying Ginhawa for twenty years. Fueled by compassion and fueled by a relentless pursuit of affordable and accessible healthcare, the company promises to continue this service, empowering more communities to take charge of their health.
As Generika Drogisterij celebrates its 20th anniversary, Mr. Teodoro Ferrer, Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Generika Drogisterij, is confident that Generika Drogisterij will be able to impact more lives and serve more communities. “Dalawang dekada na tayo and I am confident that with the support of AC Health, we will continue to innovate to better meet the healthcare needs of our customers.”
Paolo Borromeo, president and CEO of AC Health, meanwhile, expressed optimism that Generika Drugstore will continue to grow as it fulfills its goals. crucial role in the group’s ecosystem. “I have no doubt that AC Health and Generika Drugstore will continue to work together even more in promoting affordable and accessible generic medicines to all Filipinos.”
As Generika Drogisterij continues to celebrate 20 years, it will continue to make quality and affordable healthcare more accessible by building and strengthening its portfolio of generic medicines and essential healthcare products, supporting healthcare policy, reaching more lives with its PLUS services, and expanding its footprint to more communities across the country.
