A woman on TikTok has come under fire after she filmed herself frolicking in dirty water after Hurricane Helene flooded her living room.
In a 15-second video posted online that has been viewed more than 13 million times, the woman could be seen sliding across the hardwood floor into her family room covered in several inches of dirty rainwater.
The woman performed a series of dance moves she had seen in the 2008 dance film Step Up 2, in which she slipped on the wood before splashing while trying to perform a move.
“POV: Hurricane Helene is going crazy, but this scene in Step Up 2 gets even crazier,” the Gen Z TikToker wrote.
A woman on TikTok has come under fire after recording herself frolicking in dirty water after Hurricane Helene flooded her living room.
In a 15-second video posted online, which has been viewed more than 13 million times, the woman could be seen sliding across the hardwood floor toward her family’s living room.
She could be seen collapsing as she squeezed water out of her soaked T-shirt and shorts.
This sparked a series of caustic reactions online from viewers who were less than impressed with the women’s antics.
Many were concerned that he was playing in the water while the house’s electricity still appeared to be on, with an electric fan and several lamps still glowing brightly in the background.
“Bestie kills but turns off the electricity,” Taliewallie wrote.
“Bestie, you’re killing it, but PLEASE flip the circuit breaker.” Jenna urged.
‘Having the electricity on while there are floods is crazy. “I would turn it off so as not to be electrocuted,” suggested Emma Garrard.
The woman claimed to be recreating moves from the 2008 dance film Step Up 2.
Many commenters were concerned because she had left the house’s electricity on.
The TikToker has 17,000 followers but more than 3 million people have seen the clip so far.
“The only thing I can think of is the lamp being plugged in,” Kaz added.
Others were more concerned about what the young woman might be swimming in.
“That’s accumulated wastewater,” one warned.
‘Am I entertained? Yes. Am I worried? Also yes,” Cherise wrote.
“When you decide you’re not even going to let a hurricane ruin your day,” wrote one supporter of the woman’s antics.
“I love how generationally traumatized we all are as a generation where we’ve become so nonchalant about such a traumatic and terrifying event.” Cindy Dodge wrote.
Many others posted similar comments suggesting the woman wasn’t really acting her age.
“We can’t be the new adults,” JS wrote, a theme echoed by dozens of Gen Zers.
Hurricane Helene made landfall as a Category 4 storm Thursday night, battering Florida’s Big Bend region with 140 mph winds.
The storm’s destructive path continued through Georgia. As the weakened storm moved north, it unleashed torrential rains in the Carolinas and Tennessee, causing widespread flooding and mudslides.
