Bond girl Gemma Arterton has revealed that all her sex scenes are now carefully choreographed by intimacy coordinators in the wake of the #MeToo movement.
And the 38-year-old actress highlighted the stark contrast to her experiences as a young performer who was given no say in whether or not she did an intimate scene.
Arterton, best known for playing intelligence agent Strawberry Fields in the 2008 Bond film Quantum Of Solace, said: “I had a sex scene thrown at me once.
‘Like, “This is what’s going to happen,” and I did it. That wouldn’t happen now, with intimacy coordinators.
‘I’m very pleased that we now have intimacy coordinators. Remove the unknown.
‘There is no ambiguity. It seems a bit prescriptive, but it’s like learning an accent, a fight or a dance: first you have to go through the motions and then you make it feel more spontaneous and relaxed.’

Arterton, best known for playing intelligence agent Strawberry Fields in the 2008 Bond film Quantum Of Solace, has said that the intimacy coordinators have been a good addition to the sets.
Arterton also revealed that now, at the top of every movie call sheet, there is a confidential line to call if an actor is going through something.
The actress told Times Magazine that she still worries about the effects sex scenes have on younger actors. “I said no (to a sex scene) another time, when I was feeling a little more empowered,” she said.
‘That’s why I worry about younger actors or replaceable actors. I’ve heard stories from actor friends who are less established or just starting out, where they felt like they couldn’t say anything because they’d get fired. That’s really terrible.’
It revealed other ways the film industry has changed after the rise of the #MeToo movement, which gave a voice to survivors of sexual harassment and violence.
He added: “At the top of each call sheet, there is a number to call if you have a problem.”
‘It’s completely anonymous. That’s really cool because it wasn’t there before. There have been many changes. If there is any type of harassment, there are means you can contact.”
Arterton stars in new thriller Culprits, which will be available to stream on ITVX from December 19.
