- The Cats and Crows match was stopped due to pitch invader
- Adelaide player Ben Keays had to bring the intruder to the ground
- Cameron couldn’t help himself with a cheeky troll aimed at the pitch invader
Geelong star Jeremy Cameron is known for his sharp wit and trolling of other players online, now he’s taken those skills to the footy field with a hilarious act of pitch invader.
The clash between the Cats and the Adelaide Crows was briefly halted on Friday night when the pitch invader entered the pitch and evaded efforts to pursue security guards.
After a referee stopped play, Adelaide midfielder Matt Crouch grabbed the striker and briefly held him by the shirt sleeve before breaking free.
He then ran free around a crowd of players in the direction of Crow Ben Keays, who tackled the perpetrator to the ground before security pounced.

Fans thought Cameron’s actions were hilarious, but coaches took a dim view of the pitch invader’s antics
Standing nearby and watching the incident unfold, Cameron then raised his arms to the sides of his body in the same motion as a referee signaling that he was holding the ball.
It was a moment captured by eagle-eyed fans who praised the ‘hilarious’ Cameron for trolling the pitch invader live on the pitch.
‘Jeremy Cameron with elite s*** posts DURING a game,’ one supporter wrote on social media platform X with a laughing emoji.
“Think we found Jezza’s next gig post footy,” added another.
“I’m not even an AFL person but THIS is quality,” commented another.
The forward faces a minimum three-year ban from Adelaide Oval and a fine of up to $5000.
And while Cameron was able to make light of the incident, the Geelong and Adelaide coaches took a dim view of the field’s ‘dangerous’ actions.
“(Australian cricketer) Terry Alderman needed a shoulder reconstruction because of one of those idiots,” Geelong coach Chris Scott said.
”It’s really disappointing and it’s dangerous … pitch invaders, I don’t get it,” Adelaide coach Matthew Nicks added.

The incident came as Geelong continued its winning start to the season with a spirited 19-point win over the Adelaide Crows on Friday.
Geelong forward ace Tom Hawkins has kicked four goals and produced a game-breaking burst, booting three goals in a dozen minutes after the Crows briefly hit the front in the third quarter.
The 35-year-old’s match-turning exploits were crucial in Geelong banking back-to-back wins to open their season.
Adelaide now have two defeats ahead of a Test trip to Fremantle next weekend.
Hawkins, in his 349th AFL game, was dominant, while Tom Stewart (28 disposals) was superb in his 150th, taking 11 marks – 10 of them interceptions, an AFL record.
“It’s hard to believe with what he’s given our footy club that he’s only played 150 games,” Cats coach Chris Scott said of the five-time All Australian.
‘It might be up there with the top 150 games ever played.
“Of course I’m biased, but the position he plays, he’s just special.”
