Retired Geelong star Joel Selwood and his wife Brit rubbed shoulders with the crème de la crème of British high society on the first day of the illustrious Royal Ascot races.
Race-goers dodged the earlier wet weather as they donned their best designer dresses and smart morning suits to make their way down to Berkshire Racecourse.
Approximately 300,000 people will attend the prestigious event, including royalty and world-famous celebrities.
The event is a much more social occasion as it is a sporting event and race goers take the opportunity to don the style, from chic hats and sundresses to tight suits.
Joel Selwood and his wife Brit attended as they had a “date day,” and witnessed the arrival of King Charles and Queen Camilla in a horse-drawn carriage.

The AFL great joked that his top hat was too big and his ears stuck out
“Date day at Royal Ascot, what an experience,” Selwood wrote on Instagram alongside a series of photos from the event.
‘No, my ears don’t usually look like that, my hat was too big. To top it off, we rolled the Poms into the cricket, fantastic.’
Brit posted on her own account: ‘Grateful for a day at Royal Ascot. Have a lovely day out at the races and thank you Great British Racing for giving us the best Ascot experience.’
The veteran retired from beloved Geelong after captaining their spectacular grand final victory over the Sydney Swans last season.
Earlier this year, Selwood and his wife Brit welcomed their miracle baby into the world after years of struggling with fertility.
When fans found out he was going to England this month, some speculated that Selwood would help the Australian cricket team as a coach.
Selwood stunned AFL fans by taking up a position with the NRL’s Melbourne Storm shortly after he retired from footy, and his interest in cricket led many to believe another shocking code change was in the works for the four-time premiership winner.
However, he told Daily Mail Australia exclusively that the rumors aren’t just wrong – they’re completely unfounded.

The retired Geelong star and his wife are currently on holiday in Europe
“That’s not true – there’s no truth to it at all,” he said.
‘We [he and Brit] go abroad on Sunday, but it is only a public holiday. We are going to Spain, France and then to London for a long period of time.’
