Matt Lucas showed off a sleek new frame when he showed up on ITV’s Lorraine Friday morning, after piling on the pounds during lockdown.
The Great British Bake Off host, 47, confessed to impressed host Lorraine Kelly, 61, that he ‘still has a bit of a tum’ after deciding it was time to lose weight.
As Lorraine noted about his physique, Matt said, “ I lost some weight, I had to cross the line because I gained a lot of weight in lockdown. I still have a little bit of trouble. ‘

And as Matt noted that he is not yet a ‘Skinny Minnie’, Lorraine told the Little Britain star that he would look ‘crazy’ if his weight dropped too much.
In April last year, Matt admitted that during his stay in quarantine, he was eager to get ‘fitter’ after feeling like he had ‘gained a little bit of weight’.
When he made the comment during another gig at Lorraine, he said, ‘All I have to do is get fitter, I’ve gained a little bit of weight, that’s my next challenge to exercise a little more.
“Maybe I should make a game of it if I’m going to do an exercise to stay away from people. I don’t have a garden so I have to find a way to do that. ‘

Celebration: The star appeared in Lorraine to discuss his new documentary celebrating 50 years of childhood favorite Mr Men
Elsewhere during his performance on Lorraine this Friday, Matt confirmed that the GBBO cast and crew will be “ in a bubble ” for the new series.
Matt, who is also starring in a new documentary celebrating 50 years of Mr. Men, said: ‘We’re starting [filming] Very fast. And just like last year, we are entering a bubble.
‘All isolate themselves and be tested. And then we go into the COVID free bubble so we can all taste each other’s pastries and there can be handshakes and all kinds. ‘
He added, “I’ve seen the video clips of all the new bakers and there are some great ones in them.”
Note: As Lorraine Kelly noted about his physique, Matt said, ‘I lost some weight, I had to take the edge because I put on a lot of weight in lockdown. I still have a bit of a tum ‘
Funny: He got a hilarious message from friend and co-star David Walliams, who appeared on the show the day before, while also talking about the collaboration with the comedian.
Matt continued: ‘I just have fun and I love working with Noel [Fielding]. He’s so funny. And of course we’ve both been in double acts – we’re used to being in that dynamic.
So when we write together, we understand the rhythms that have to go, “Oh, actually, I’ve been thinking about this joke, but you’ve got it.” Noel is so generous. He comes up with very funny things that I can say.
And Paul [Hollywood] and Prue [Leith] are so friendly and they were so hospitable. I was so nervous going to this hugely popular show and Sandi [Toksvig] had left very large boots to fill. But it’s great, so much fun to be there. ‘
About the opening sketches of Bake Off, he said: ‘We are trying to make more sketches like that. Before the show starts, we try to do something funny every week. We are dressing up more and more this year. ‘
Fan: Matt showed his allegiance to his favorite football team while wearing an Arsenal hoodie
And when he worked again with his Little Britain co-star David Walliams, he said, ‘We have an idea. We haven’t written anything down yet, we haven’t pitched anything to anyone, but we do know what we want to do. ‘
He touched on his Mr Men special and said, ‘This year is 50 years of the Mr Men and 40 years of the Little Miss, because they came later.
“Channel 4 has asked me to make this documentary, and also to celebrate the anniversary they have held a competition and fans can choose new characters.”
Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV. Viewers can also catch up on ITV Hub.
