Gavin and Stacey’s Pete and Dawn posed in a sweet and adorable photo taken behind the scenes of the Christmas finale special.
Bryn actor Rob Brydon shared the photo on his Instagram account this week of the two hugging on set.
Peter, played by Adrian Scarborough, and Dawn, played by Julia Davis, played a central role in the finale when fans discovered they had divorced before getting together again.
Their on-again, off-again relationship was documented in previous series of the BBC show.
The latest episode of the beloved show also saw Smithy (James Corden) and Nessa (Ruth Jones). They finally reunited after the 2019 Christmas special ended on a proposal cliffhanger.
Rob wrote in the caption of his photo of Pete and Dawn: ‘Two prairie voles. #gavinandstaceychristmasspecial.’
The caption referenced how Dawn described a night of passion with Pete amid the rekindling of their romance.

Peter, played by Adrian Scarborough, and Dawn, played by Julia Davis, played a central role in the finale when fans discovered they had divorced before getting together again.
At Sonia’s bridal shower, Stacey and Pam Shipman asked Dawn what happened the night they spent together.
She said, ‘We were like two prairie voles frolicking in a meadow!’
It comes after Gavin & Stacey fans pointed out a significant mistake about a location appearing in the Christmas Day special of the popular BBC comedy.
The episode, which served as the show’s “finale,” attracted more than 12 million viewers and featured plenty of drama.
From Smithy leaving his bride-to-be Sonia (played by Laura Aikman) at the altar to his last-minute proposal to Nessa, he wowed fans.
The plot saw Smithy race from Essex to Southampton port to stop Nessa leaving the UK in search of a new job, culminating in their marriage.
However, eagle-eyed Southampton viewers pointed out that the scenes set in and around the harbor did not look authentic.
Those scenes are now believed to have been filmed more than 100 miles away, in Wales, specifically at Newport Docks in Newport.
Addressing X, they wrote: “(The ending) was great but as someone from #Southampton the perception of the port was completely wrong.”
“(The episode) was pure perfection (ignoring the location of ‘Southampton’ docks).”

Their on-again, off-again relationship was documented in previous series of the BBC show (seen together far right).

Bryn actor Rob Brydon shared the photo on his Instagram account this week of the two hugging on set.
First of all, where the hell is this? (crying and laughing emoji) It’s not Southampton! Secondly, SOUTHAMPTON IS HUGE WHERE WE GO!! #GavinAndStacey
“Excellent acting job by Newport Docks, playing Southampton Docks in the Christmas special #GavinAndStacey.”
‘Disgusted. This is not our great Southampton.
“The way they tried to pass Barry off as Southampton made me laugh. There is no part of Southampton that looks like that.
One user responded to let them know where it was actually filmed by divulging: ‘And that Southampton docks were actually Newport docks.’
This isn’t the first time the show has opted for Welsh locations to serve as English settings.
Although Mick Shipman’s home is said to be in Billericay, Larry Lamb previously revealed that the original series was filmed entirely in Wales.
Speaking of production radio timesHe explained: “No one offered us the chance to go to Essex.”
It comes as fans also discovered what Smithy’s jilted lover Sonia had been up to before her appearance on Gavin and Stacey.
When Laura returned to television screens as Sonia, those who grew up in the ’90s began to take notice of the actress’ other iconic role: Mysti from The Mysti Show.

Rob wrote in the caption of his photo of Pete and Dawn: ‘Two prairie voles. #gavinandstaceychristmasspecial’: a nod to a funny moment from the show
The Mysti Show aired from April 2004 to December 2005.
In the show, Laura took on the role of a half-human, half-fairy named Mysti.
In each 20-minute episode, Mysti “made magic with her own unique blend of entertainment and comedy-drama with celebrity guests.”
In 2000, Laura appeared in an episode of the long-running hospital drama Casualty, the catalyst for a series of guest roles that would include appearances on The Bill, Doctors and That Mitchell And Webb Look.
But in 2009 she landed the first of two recurring roles, as Lucy in BBC Three’s hit series Personal Affairs and, more significantly, in her return to Casualty, this time as nurse May Phelps.
A third major television role came in 2016, when Aikman was cast as Lorna Hutchinson for the tenth series of the BBC drama Waterloo Road.
Other television roles include guest appearances on Death In Paradise, Pramface, Citizen Khan and Bluestone 42, where she met her husband Matt Kennard in 2015.
Laura’s return as Sonia shocked the nation, as not even her own parents knew about it until they saw it on Christmas Day.
The actress had been “hiding out” in a separate hotel during filming after signing a non-disclosure agreement to protect the main plot twist.
