California Governor Gavin Newsom and his wife are moving their family to an exclusive part of the state so their daughter can attend a new private school.

The Democrat, touted as a future presidential candidate, will stay at his $3.7 million, six-bedroom suburban Sacramento home with his wife Jennifer Siebel Newsom some nights a week.

But she will move her children 90 miles away, to Marin County, in time for the fall semester, when her oldest son, Montana, will enroll at The Branson School, which has tuition rates of up to $60,000 a year.

The move comes as he is already fueling speculation that he is focusing on his political future beyond when his term as governor ends in 2027.

Newsom indicated he already has one foot out there with a prerecorded State of the State address on Tuesday where he compared 2024 to 1939, when fascism was on the rise on the eve of World War II.

Newsom’s office confirmed the move to the elite Bay Area enclave for political.

“To ensure the continuity of their children’s education, the family will split their time between Sacramento and Marin heading into the next academic year,” according to the governor’s spokeswoman, Izzy Gardon.

Newsom’s term as governor ends in January 2027 and he is a favorite to be a leading contender in the 2028 presidential race.

He was touted as a possible replacement for Joe Biden, but ended speculation and will now be a campaign surrogate.

One of his first major campaign appearances will be in Atlanta, Georgia, for the first presidential debate on Thursday night.
