Gaten Matarazzo has spoken candidly about some of the awkward encounters he had with Stranger Things fans as a teenager.
The talented actor, now 21, opened up about some of the most awkward interactions he’s had with fans of the Netflix series, which has been filming season five since earlier this year.
He talked about some of the encounters that were “a little awkward” in the Inside You Podcast released on Tuesday.
Gaten talked about the interaction that stood out to him the most, explaining: “I did one very recently (and this isn’t very funny, but the reactions around it were pretty funny) where a woman in her 40s bluntly said: I have been in love with you since you were 13 years old.
And I said, “That’s disturbing.” I’m sure she just meant, “Oh, this kid is cute.”

Despite being completely taken aback by the comment, the Stranger Things star said it got even stranger as the woman expanded on that thought further.
He explained: “She said, ‘I’m aware of the age difference.'”
Gaten said “okay” and the woman’s 13-year-old daughter was with her and was stunned by his comment when the actor said, “Mom, what the fuck?” I swear to god.’
That wasn’t the only awkward interaction, which he described as “crazy,” that the young actor has had with his fans.
He went on to reveal that he had taken several photos with fans, explaining, “I’m sure I’ve gotten some butts touched.”
Gaten and the rest of the cast are currently in production on the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, having been part of the main cast since early 2016.
He told podcast host Michael Rosenbaum: “With this show it’s pretty clear and I’m very aware (and I would like my professional team) to understand that I very much agree that ‘Stranger Things’ is probably the most important thing I’ve ever done. “. do.
“And chances are it’ll be something they’ll remember me for even if I work constantly after this.”

She went on to reveal that she took several photos with fans, explaining, “I sure got my butt grabbed a few times.”
Gaten and the rest of the cast are currently in production on the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, having been part of the main cast since its inception in 2016; He and Joe Keery appear in season 3 which was released in 2019.
As many actors have previously expressed displeasure at being cast because they had a signature role early in their career, Gaten doesn’t have those same reservations.
He explained, “And I’m fine with that, as long as it facilitates future happiness, security, and more work in the future.”
‘What more can I ask for? “I don’t want to maintain a sense of relevance right now when it’s not even something I enjoy that much.”
While fans will have to wait quite some time for Stranger Thing to return for season five, Gaten has a project on the horizon.
The talented star will play the title character in the upcoming four-part LEGO Star Wars miniseries titled Lego Star Wars: Rebuild The Galaxy.
