On a recent trip to Miami, DailyMail.com's Sadie Whitelocks discovered a whole world of boat rentals, where a luxury boat can be as simple as renting a car for a day.

evHave you dreamed of partying on a superyacht like Kylie Jenner and others, but don’t have the celebrity budget or a circle of high-profile friends to play with?

Well, on a recent trip to Miami to celebrate a friend’s 40th birthday, I discovered a whole world of boat rentals, where a luxury vessel can be as little as renting a car for a day.

My friend Jared Kleinman, who recently moved to Miami from New York, decided he wanted a boat party for his big party, with a fleet of boats gathering for an afternoon of fun in the sun.

He stated in the invitation email to his group that the goal was to “rent as many boats as necessary to create the largest armada of boats Biscayne Bay has ever seen.”

The ‘Jargatta’, as he named it, involved five boats in total carrying around 60 people and, while Jared had a local broker manage four yachts, I stumbled upon boat charter company Getmyboat, where I opted for a luxury of 2.7 million dollars.

There were going to be 13 people on our boat, since according to Miami law, that is the maximum number of passengers per boat ‘regardless of the size of the boat or the age of the passenger’.

This meant that, split between our group, the Azimut 70 would cost just $160 per person per day.

The 70-foot boat is definitely something to book if you’re looking to make a big impression.

It has an open upper deck, a generously sized covered space for placing food and drink towards the rear, and a large padded lying area towards the pointed bow.

Inside, there is a spacious living room and dining room upstairs, while there are two bathrooms below deck along with a master cabin and two double bedrooms.

According shipThe model (ours was from 2016) originally sold for around $2.7 million, but it is no longer produced and the price of used models varies.

Booking a boat with Getmyboat was as easy as booking a car.

I selected the pickup point and times and hired captain and crew separately (another requirement of Florida law) thanks to a recommendation from the boat owner.

All boats were docked at Miami Beach Marina and our boat was located at Pier B and Pier 14.

Just as I had arranged through the app, the boat was ready and crewed at noon and we were allowed to bring all of our food and drink on board, with coolers, ice and glassware.

All ships made a brief tour of Miami’s Biscayne Bay before converging at a meeting point.

I had been to Miami several times, but never delved into the world of boat parties and it is certainly quite a scene.

The waters surrounding the party town writhe with boats of all sizes, and revelers enjoy the sun and watery surroundings.

Many boats we passed had twerking bikini-clad passengers and as the hours passed, the party atmosphere on our boats also steadily increased.

The team was obviously used to this type of setup, and one of their teammates, Meli, made several rounds with a bottle of tequila and shot glasses to make sure spirits stayed high.

Speaking with experienced seaman Captain Eduardo, he says that boats are in constant demand in Miami and that the charter market is big business.

As a result, he says there are many scammers out there, so booking through reputable sites like Getmyboat gives the customer greater peace of mind.

After several hours of enjoying the confines of our elegant flotilla, it was time to return to the marina.

Eduardo had to prepare a sunset charter, while Meli’s job was to clean the decks for the new passengers.

Once on land, everyone agreed that the day on the water had been a lot of fun.

And now that I realize that booking a yacht is as easy as renting a car, the idea for the second round of Jargatta has already arisen.
