Gary Oldman left fans ‘in tears’ when he read CBeebies’ bedtime story for 2024 Children In Need on Friday.

The legendary actor, 66, read a true story written especially for the episode by Claire Taylor and illustrated by Tim Budgen.

The story told a story that was intended to inspire “warmth, encouragement and hope.”

Sharing their thoughts on X, viewers praised the “brilliant” Gary and said the story “made them cry”.
