Gary Neville has sent a sincere apology to pop megastar Harry Styles after he mistook the Manchester United fan for the son of a Luton Town manager before the Hatter’s 2-1 defeat to the Red Devils.
The ‘As It Was’ singer appeared in the Sky Sports studio before kick-off on Sunday and met the likes of Jamie Redknapp, Tom Lockyer and Neville.
But Styles’ unfamiliar wardrobe choice appeared to make him unrecognizable to the United legend, who admitted he didn’t know who the 30-year-old was.
Neville offered a humiliating apology after the confrontation, explaining his confusion and stating that the mistake would make his daughters “mortified.”
“I have to get in the studio and try to resurrect the fact that I didn’t recognize Harry Styles before the game.” He said after the game.
Gary Neville admitted not recognizing Harry’s styles when he met members of the Sky Sports team ahead of Manchester United’s clash with Luton on Sunday.
Styles was present at Kenilworth Road for the match as United claimed a 2-1 victory.

‘He dressed very elegantly. He walked into the home of the owners of Luton Town and I thought he was actually one of the manager’s sons.
Neville added on whether he thought the pop star recognized him: “No. He’s a United fan so he may have done it, oh God, I’m totally embarrassed and shocked.
‘My two daughters would be horrified, mortified with me. I’m so sorry Harry, I really am.’
The 30-year-old reportedly left Kenilworth Road in high spirits after watching his team beat Rob Edward’s side 2-1.
The in-form Rasmus Hojlund scored a brace inside seven minutes before the home side scored a goal through Carlton Morris soon after.
Erik ten Hag’s side secured their fourth Premier League win on the rebound which saw them move three points behind Tottenham in fifth and just five behind Aston Villa in fourth.
