Gareth Gates reveals he’s helping his 15-year-old daughter Missy secure a record deal while he tours because acting “is in his blood”

Gareth Gates has revealed he is helping his daughter, Missy, secure a record deal because she wants to follow in her famous father’s footsteps.

The 39-year-old singer, who is embarking on a tour to pay tribute to The Jersey Boys in September, admitted the 15-year-old already has his sights set on fame.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, she said the aspiring artist is already working tirelessly to hone her craft and has dedicated every evening after school to dance classes.

After watching her father rise to fame as a Pop Idol runner-up in 2002, Missy has followed him around the UK to watch him since he was a baby.

And Gareth reflected: “She’s actually following in my footsteps.”

Gareth continued: “She has a great voice. She’s a great dancer. The more she gets involved in the music world, the more she learns.”

‘She dances every night after school. ‘You know, she’s reviewing all her grades.’

When asked if he would let her enter vocal competitions like him, he admitted that he would prefer Missy to write songs and get a contract that way.

“I’d actually like to try to sit down and write songs with her first and try to get her a record deal that way,” he added.

He then revealed that he would love for her to join him on tours in the future and admitted that he thinks she will eventually be “his backup singer.”

Missy has already been recognized in the industry when The Voice Kids contacted her.

The start of his talented journey through the arts comes as Gareth prepares to embark on a UK tour.

But Gareth revealed that while he would love for Missy to take the path of songwriting and singing, he doesn’t really know what path she’ll take when she makes that leap to stardom.

Gareth shares Missy with his ex-wife Suzanne. The former couple were together for 10 years before their split.

He is currently dating stage actress Allana Taylor and only made his talents public last summer.

Gareth will lead an all-star cast of West End performers in paying tribute to The Jersey Boys.

He will perform an electrifying vocal tribute to the iconic sounds of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.

With over five decades of dominating the airwaves and an astonishing 150 million records sold, the Four Seasons have etched themselves into music history.

Gareth is honored and excited to be in his shoes and make this tribute a reality.
