Warhammer manufacturer Games Workshop is in the final stages of bringing its figures to the big screen.

The board game retailer has signed a deal with Amazon Content Services (first announced in December last year) to create a series of films and TV shows based on the Warhammer universe.

Games Workshop has until December to agree on creative guidelines for the project.

“The deal will only go ahead if the creative guidelines are mutually agreed between Games Workshop and Amazon,” a Games Workshop spokesperson said.

The FTSE 250 company’s pre-tax profit topped £200m, up 18.9 per cent year-on-year to £203m from £170.6m.

This enabled the company to increase the proportion of its profits it distributed to staff to £18m, up from £11m last year. Games Workshop shares rose 1.4 per cent.
