An urgent search is underway for a man after police found his empty car crashed into a tree 10 days ago on a rural New South Wales road.
Gage Wilson, 31, was last seen on Hakea Crt in Mullumbimby at around 5am on May 18.
His vehicle was found crashed into a tree on Koonyum Range Road in Wilsons Creek shortly afterwards, but Wilson was nowhere to be found.
Mr Wilson, who is on the autism spectrum, is described as Caucasian and is between 170 and 180cm tall, has short brown hair and tattoos on both legs and arms.
Police have urged local residents to carefully inspect their properties for signs of Mr Wilson as the search continues.
A new search in the Wilsons Creek area resumed on Monday and continued on Tuesday.

The Mullumbimby local on the New South Wales north coast has been described as “a unique individual with a wonderfully generous heart” who makes everyone laugh.
Mr Wilson’s car was found crashed into a tree.
His cousin, Elizabeth Kovacs, has been assisting in the search efforts.
“We are concerned that people will perceive Byron as a party place and not see the human being behind this (plea) that we are desperately trying to find,” he said.
“He wasn’t into drugs or alcohol; he was in Byron for the nature,” he said.
“It just disappeared,” Ms. Kovacs said. “There was a car accident, we don’t know if he was injured or if he went somewhere to protect himself from bad weather.”
Police informed the family that they believe Wilson may be in dense brush. They also revealed that trained search dogs have been deployed to locate human remains.

‘(Gage is) known for his ability to make us all laugh. “He is honest and authentic, and we greatly miss his presence,” he said.
‘The police, family and friends are doing everything they can to find Gage. We are concerned that he may be injured and lost and we need to put up as many missing persons signs as mailboxes in the area and expand our search through different avenues.’
