An Italian travel blogger who allegedly caused the deaths of three members of the same family in a horrific car crash last year will have to wait another month before facing his final charges, with the case pushed back as prosecutors review key reconstruction reports the accident.

Gabriele Cairo, 28, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday before Judge Brian Nitschke for a charge hearing, but prosecutors asked for a five-week adjournment to review a technical reconstruction report and then decide how to proceed against him.

Police have charged Cairo with three counts of causing death by dangerous driving and one count of causing serious injury by dangerous driving after he allegedly collided with a Honda Civic carrying John, Cynthia and daughter Jacquie Clarke at a rural crossroads in South Australia’s Mid North- region. on 31 October 2023.

Cynthia, 84, and Jacquie, 54, died at the scene of the Everard Central crash, and husband and father John Clarke, 86, who was in the back of the Honda, suffered serious injuries.

Paramedics flew him to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for further treatment, but he died of his injuries days later.

She appeared in court with her husband on Tuesday and wept quietly as they left court together.

An Italian interpreter called via video link to translate cases for Cairo.

The Italian tourists were on their honeymoon at the time of the crash.

The couple hosted a YouTube channel documenting their travels, including videos from the pyramids in Egypt and visiting the palatial Venetian Resort in Las Vegas.

Ms Clarke, a retired nurse, and her husband were both much-loved patrons of Snowtown Golf Club before the couple moved to Clare.

Jacquie lived in Jamestown, a 50 minute drive from Clare.

Cairo is due back in court on April 30.
