A three-year-old boy walked home alone from his preschool in Washington, covering more than 100 yards after his teacher lost sight of him.
Ana Maldonado, the boy’s “completely heartbroken” mother, was outraged that her son was able to leave Tukwila Elementary School so easily two weeks ago.
Now he demands answers from the teachers and administrators whose security measures failed so miserably.
“(It’s) horrible because if he hadn’t come home, I wouldn’t even know he was on the street.”

According to Maldonado, the teacher did not look for her son because she was concerned about the teacher-student ratio.
“I was devastated when she said that,” Maldonado said. “I thought you seriously wouldn’t chase a three-year-old.”
After leaving school, Giovanni traveled home alone, traveling more than 100 meters.
When he showed up at the front door during the school day, his mother was stunned.

“I was like, ‘How are you at home? Why are you here? “School won’t be out for 30 minutes.”
Maldonado was frantic and called the school district to get clarity.

School administrators informed Maldonado that the alarm preventing children from leaving campus was not working.
The mother said this response “completely broke her heart.”
‘I’m trusting you. I leave my children to them,” he said.
