Dave Myers’ wife Lili shared a heartbreaking tribute to her late husband on Thursday after he died at age 66 last month following a battle with cancer.

Lili paid tribute to her beloved late husband and also thanked fans for the “huge wave of love and support” she has received.

Dave announced he was receiving treatment for cancer in May 2022 and bravely kept the public updated on his progress in a series of emotional television specials.

Late last month, the chef passed away with his family and friends by his side, his colleague and longtime friend Si King revealed.

On Instagram on the Hairy Biker account, he wrote: ‘A message from Lili, Dave’s wife-

“I will never be able to thank you enough for the enormous outpouring of love, compassion and care you have shown towards me, Simon and our families in these last few days since Dave’s death.

‘I want you all to know that I have read every message and comment you sent… your stories about Dave, your feelings you shared with me mean a lot and my heart is full of gratitude and love.

‘It amazes me how many hearts it touched and how many people wanted to express their love for what Dave and Si have created for almost 20 years. I know the Hairy Bikers have been a part of your living rooms for a long time and I feel your loss as much as you feel mine!

‘My husband, David Myers, was an extraordinary character and did everything with passion, enthusiasm and generosity of spirit. His energy was endless when it came to cooking and talking about recipes, or riding his bike and talking about bikes.

‘An incredible storyteller! And through his stories and television appearances, he constantly inspired and encouraged people to cook, travel and live their lives to the fullest.

‘An exceptional husband, a wonderful stepfather, a loyal friend and, in his own words, a creator, never a follower.

‘I feel like I’m grieving with an entire nation… and this is something special. ❤️ My wonderful Dave ♥️ – Lili Myers.’

Hairy Biker Si King was left filming alone during the latest episode of Hairy Bikers Go West that aired on Tuesday.

The BBC paid tribute to Dave Myers just days after the death of its star, who died last Wednesday after a battle with cancer.

However, Si was left filming only parts of the episode, as Dave was too ill to participate in all of the filming.

When the TV chef was left without his other half, Si shared some heartfelt words as he reflected on how strange it felt to be without his partner.

She admitted: “I really wish my best friend was here because he would love this,” before adding: “It’s weird without him.”

While Si was visiting a farm in Tai’N Lon, Dave was unable to join: “Unfortunately, due to my ongoing treatment, I need to take a little break today, so that means you’ll be traveling alone, buddy.”

If you responded, “Rest easy, friend, rest easy.”

Si told the farmers that he was ‘Team B’ while Dave, ‘Team A, was resting. ‘I really wish my best friend was here because he would love this. This is what it’s all about, it’s fantastic.

And he’s a good grower, Dave. Dave and his wife are good producers.”

The Hairy Bikers have always been a double group, and Si admitted that he felt strange traveling alone by bike.

I didn’t particularly like traveling alone, but I’m going to bring him some product and take a bite. It’s strange without him.

When Dave returned to visit a historic railway in Portmadog, he enjoyed his lifelong ambition to drive a steam train.

The star explained: ‘When I visited this area when I was young, Bob would already be working on these impressive locomotives. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the money to travel on these rails back then, which makes this trip even more special.”
