Furious progressives clash with conservatives at California school board meeting

Date:

Chaos erupted at a school board meeting attended by conservative and progressive parents this week when a woman reportedly told a black man to “get out of the country” after he criticized the board’s decision to eliminate critical race theory.

Riots at the Southern California school meeting Wednesday occurred without warning, and Temecula Valley Unified School District board president Joseph Komrosky ordered the irate man removed.

However, the decision was quickly rejected by those in attendance, as well as one of Komrosky’s board of directors, as they questioned why the man was being expelled simply for expressing outrage at the alleged verbal attack.

Parents from both sides of the political spectrum would go on to clash in a frenzied display in which members of the public angrily shouted ‘do your job’ at board members, who recently voted to hire an ‘anti-CRT consultant’ with the contributor funds.

Pictures taken by attendees show much of the mess, with members of the overwhelmed board seen standing from their seats as the event turned wild.

Disturbances at the Southern California school reunion on Wednesday saw the irate man, identified by the board as ‘Deon’, removed from the premises after he expressed outrage over an alleged racist comment by a white woman present.

Eventually, as the event descended into chaos, the unidentified woman allegedly responsible for the racist slur (seen here) was also thrown off the premises.

Eventually, the president of the board would succumb to the pressure, ordering the woman allegedly responsible for the racist slur outside the facility as well.

The incident began when the man, identified by the board as ‘Deon,’ took the podium to express his disgust at the district’s decision in December to allocate $15,000 in taxpayer funds for sessions with an anti-CRT consultant.

Describing the move as ‘stupid’, Deon used the allotted time to discredit the board, citing that ‘[CRT]isn’t even taught in any K-12 classroom in the US.’

“Your continued flagrant and willful ignorance of the black experience in this country is not only shameful but also detrimental to our children’s education and growth,” Deon said, speaking calmly but passionately.

“It’s disappointing to see people with a problem with teaching history,” he added.

‘It is widely recognized by the vast majority of experts that bringing CRT to the K-12 classroom is just as outlandish as bringing calculus to the first grade classroom. Neither idea is viable or credible.

At first he was greeted with applause, as he went to sit down, Deon said he heard Deon’s sarcastic comment. a woman in the audience, who is seen in some of the footage but has yet to be identified.

However, the decision was quickly rejected by those in attendance, as well as one of Komrosky's board members, as they questioned why the man was being expelled simply for expressing outrage at the alleged verbal attack.

According to Deon, who angrily repeated his alleged words out loud, the woman had told him to “get out of the country.”

The offensive barb is not heard on any recording of the event, although board member Steven Schwartz later confirmed to Newsweek that the woman “made a comment to the effect that I should get out of the country.”

“He responded to it and the audience got angry.”

The board members at the time did not witness the interaction, as they were seated several feet away from the designated place for members of the public to speak.

Therefore, when Deon angrily responded to the woman as she returned to her seat, the board members gave him a “first warning” that if we ever had another outburst again, he would be escorted out of the auditorium.

The warning was delivered by Komrosky, who moments later would make good on his threat and demand that security remove the man when he continued to protest the woman’s alleged behavior.

‘If I feel like this, why don’t I just get out of the country?’ he can be heard saying in multiple clips circulating on social media about the altercation, which quickly escalated into degeneracy.

Temecula Valley Unified School District Board Chairman Joseph Komrosky ordered the man's removal.

“She said, ‘Out of the country,'” Deon is heard saying after being reprimanded by the district staff member. She told me to get out of the country.

He added angrily, while gesturing to the unidentified woman in her seat: “My family has been here since August 16, 1619.”

Following that statement, Komrosky, apparently concerned about the contentious nature of the meeting’s topic, asked that the man be escorted out of the building.

The order was quickly met with outrage, and the crowd erupted into shouting and chanting.

Noting the growing unease as the man was removed by security, Komrosky replied, “If you wish, the entire auditorium can leave.”

Members of the public could be heard shouting ‘take the woman out (in her place)’ and ‘do your job’, a harsh reaction which was broadcast live on the district’s official Youtube channel.

Board member Allison Barclay would also express her displeasure at her colleagues’ decision, seconds before a confused Komrosky ordered an immediate recess.

I am against that. If that woman said that to her, she should apologize,” Barclay said.

But members of the crowd stuck around and eventually turned on each other in a series of recorded incidents viewed by thousands online.

Finally, amid the pronounced backlash, the woman pointed out by Deon was also removed, in a clip that is also circulating on social media.

Speaking to Newsweek, Schwarz recalled the outrage that ensued, in which police were forced to intervene as members of both sides chanted and insulted each other.

“The meeting descended into chaos and the chairman of the board declared a recess,” he explained.

‘It was a sad day to see our community so divided on such a petty issue in our district that was crafted to push a political agenda and distract us from our real work, which is delivering high-quality education and learning in our award-winning schools.’
