Scottie Scheffler was left furious after a wild shot at Friday’s PGA Tour event in Denver, and television microphones captured the world’s No. 1 golfer embarking on a furious tirade.

Scheffler swore on the course after two terrible plays on the 10th hole of the BMW Championship, the first of which went straight into the water.

And when he missed his next swing, the two-time Masters champion and Olympic gold medalist let the red mist descend as he launched into a profanity-laced rant on live television.

He first asked caddie Ted Scott: “Isn’t that an uphill slope? Really?”

Scheffler was furious: “How is this possible? How? HOW? How is this possible? What the fuck?”

As he approached the hole, Scheffler was unable to turn things around after needing three more shots to find the cup and recording a double bogey.

However, he eventually managed to recover and finish the round with a 72, which left him tied for 29th place in the standings.

The collapse in Denver, however, wasn’t the first time Scheffler has lashed out at the field lately.

Last week he was seen venting his frustrations after an embarrassing shot in his first PGA Tour event since winning an Olympic gold medal in Paris this summer.

At TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee, Scheffler’s tee shot on the 13th hole found a bunker 185 yards from the hole. His second shot missed the green and suffered a similar fate in the sand.

Faced with difficulty getting up and down from the trap on the right of the green, the 28-year-old went over the pin and his ball stopped 13 feet from the hole.

Scheffler lost his cool and swore, which was picked up by the television microphones.

However, despite his shot landing safely on the dance floor and coming close to saving par, he was not overly impressed.

Scheffler immediately smashed his club into the bunker before his ball could land, before furiously kicking the sand to cover his tracks and shaking his head in disgust.

As he emerged from the sand trap, he pointed his club at the ground one last time before walking away.
