Fun activities for the upcoming spring season
It’s been a long and gloomy winter. The short days and freezing temperatures will soon be behind us. Spring is just around the corner, and we can’t wait to bask in the sunlight. The daffodils will start blossoming, and the sun will start setting later at night. It’s almost time to emerge from your winter hibernation and make some plans for the spring season.
Here are a few activities you could do with your friends and family this spring.
Go to the farmer’s market
Spring is the perfect time to go to a farmers’ market. Farmers markets are usually much livelier in the warmer season. You could buy some fresh flowers or a new house plant for your living room. Pick out some organic vegetables and prepare a delicious Sunday roast on Easter weekend.
Go for a road trip
Plan a road trip with your best friend and visit a few places you have never been to before. You could drive up north to Scotland and stop off at a few beaches, hiking spots or historic sites. Just make sure to check your tyres before setting off and drive safely throughout the trip. You need a lively playlist for your drive and plenty of snacks to keep your energy up.
Go to an art festival
You might find a few foodie festivals or an art exhibition you want to go to. You can support the local artists and invest in a few pieces for your home. Do some research and make a note of the festivals in your local area throughout the year.
Look for outdoor cinemas
Nothing says romance like an outdoor cinema drive-in. Book a date night with your partner and find an outdoor cinema nearby. You sit in the car and watch a classic romance film, like Dirty Dancing or The Notebook. Remember to bring popcorn and a few drinks in case you get peckish.
Go horseback riding
Try something a bit different this spring, and go horseback riding with your friends. You could revive an old hobby from your childhood or pick up a new skill. Horse-riding is a fantastic way to get outside and see the surrounding countryside. You might even ride along the seafront with the salty air in your hair.
Learn how to fly a kite
Buy a kite and wait for a windy spring day to fly it. You can spend an hour or two learning to do tricks and enjoying the fresh air. Kite flying is a great activity to do with your children as well.
Start a garden
Gardening has numerous benefits for your mental and physical health. Find out if you have a green thumb, and plant a few things in your garden this year. You might surprise yourself.
Celebrate this spring in style with all kinds of activities.
