David Jerome Jackson, 31, was wanted on charges stemming from a March 14 incident in which he allegedly fired a gun inside a home in Pensacola, Florida.

Charges include firing a weapon into a dwelling, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, property damage and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office received a tip Friday that Jackson was hiding inside a home.

Once officers executed a search warrant, officers entered the home to find the fugitive.

After checking every closet on the floor and every crevice, the only place they didn’t check, and didn’t think it was necessary to check, was the inside of the machines in the laundry room of the house.

Lo and behold, police pulled Jackson’s bent body from inside the “remarkably small dryer drum,” according to a Facebook post from the police department, who used the incident as an opportunity to have some fun.

Deputies said the look on Jackson’s face was “a combination of guilt, embarrassment and warm hosiery.”

“He was pulled out of the dryer one limb at a time, as he clung to his hiding place ready to fall,” the sheriff’s office said.

“Outside the dryer, officers removed three dryer sheets, two mismatched socks, and a crumpled tissue from his surprisingly wrinkled Star Wars shirt.”

Jackson has been arrested.

“And as always, all suspects are presumed innocent and static-free,” the statement concludes.
