Florida State fans who traveled to Ireland reportedly drank beer at Aviva Stadium

Florida State Seminoles fans are known for their football team, but they are also known for their ability to have fun.

So when they arrived in Dublin, Ireland for a ‘Week 0’ football game against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, they brought that party with them from Tallahassee.

Several tweets from fans at the stadium report that Florida State fans drank beer at Aviva Stadium, or at least on their half of the stadium.

‘Shit… the stadium ran out of beer’ One tweet read‘The Noles literally drank the entire Irish stadium in the first quarter.’

That tweet was quickly followed by another saying: “I think we’re back in business… but the queues are insane” and then a picture of two pints of Guinness with the caption “Crisis averted.”

They then watched their Seminoles lose on a field goal to Georgia Tech.

More than half an hour later, a pair of tweets from two different accounts appeared to say similar things.

‘FSU drank everything except the Guinness before half-time!’ wrote an FSU fan in the stands.

Another tweet from a podcaster from the state of Florida According to sources, ‘Aviva Stadium has run out of Guinness (sic) in the Florida State side concourses and is quickly bringing in more from the GT side concourse to accommodate it.’

But those reports were given a cold shower by Sirius XM’s college football host. Barrett Sallee who was at the stadium.

“I saw some people here saying the stadium was out of beer,” Sallee’s tweet read. “I can assure you there is still plenty of beer.”

Well, if that’s the case, those Florida State fans may have been desperately in need of some beer to drown their sorrows.

The 10th-ranked Seminoles lost to Georgia Tech 24-21 on kicker Aidan Birr’s field goal.

Georgia Tech head coach Brent Pry moved to 5-0 against ranked Atlantic Coast Conference opponents with the Yellow Jackets as Tech secured its first win over a top-10 opponent since 2015 — which, incidentally, came on a blocked field goal returned for a touchdown against none other than Florida State.
