From Mexican chicken to pasta carbonara: the four ingredient recipes that lazy home cooks swear by

Lazy home cooks have shared some of the four-ingredient recipes they swear by when they feel like they’re not bothering to make dinner, including Mexican chicken, pasta carbonara, and delicious taco boats.

Men and women shared photos and the ingredients for their four-ingredient dishes on Facebook, as well as how to make them easily.

Meals included breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desserts, and many said they were proof that dishes don’t need to be elaborate to be delicious.

SPAGHETTI CARBONARA

One of the simplest four-ingredient dishes that men and women say they love to make is a traditional spaghetti carbonara.

For this you only need spaghetti, egg yolks, pancetta and Parmesan cheese.

A woman named Allison said she follows the traditional Jamie Oliver Carbonara recipe, which uses egg to make the creamy sauce.

“The egg makes the cream base, instead of adding real cream,” Allison wrote.

“Roast some diced sweet potato and put it on a flan,” she posted.

Top with some raw broccolini stems. Dice some Danish feta and pour over the feta and five or six beaten eggs. ‘

Kath said she likes this dish as a working lunch with a salad.

CHICKEN AND MANGO BONBONS

One of the more unusual recipes on the list was one for chicken and mango bean bonbons.

For this you need phyllo dough, chicken fillets, cheese and mango.

“Cook the chicken breasts and cut them into slices,” wrote one woman named Emily.

“Put a double layer of phyllo, add cheese in the middle, put the chicken in it and then some mango.”

Then roll it into a package and bake in the oven until golden brown.

Emily said she usually serves this dish with hot chips and salad.

“For this I just mix chicken, the marinade of Nandos, rice and diced tomatoes,” she said.

“Onions and peppers are optional to add extra flavor.”

KETO CHICKEN PESTO BROCCOLI BAKING

One of the few ketogenic recipes on the list was for baking broccoli with chicken and pesto.

For this you need two diced chicken breasts, two cups of broccoli, 350 ml of cream and a jar of pesto.

“Fry the chicken first,” Keira wrote.

“Then add the chicken, broccoli cream and pesto to an oven dish and cook at 180 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes.”

MEXICAN CHICKEN

Another chicken dish you could make is Mexican chicken, with one kilo of chicken breasts, two packs of Mexican taco seasoning, one pot of Mexican salsa, and one can of kidney beans.

“Put it all in the slow cooker, mix and cover the chicken, then cook for six hours,” Laura wrote.

“Use two forks to pull the chicken apart, and then you can put it in a toasted wrap or tortilla, on a baked potato, or in a pie.”

RIPE CHERRY SLICE

It wasn’t just main meals that people cited as their favorite four-ingredient dishes.

A woman named Sonya said she swears by a cherry-ripe slice when she has to make an easy yet tasty dessert.

“You need a can of condensed milk, 400 grams of dark chocolate cut into pieces, 100 grams of shredded coconut, and a can of cherries, drained,” she said.

Roast the coconut in the oven, add condensed milk and chocolate to the pan and mix until melted.

When this is done, add the coconut and drained cherries and mix until combined.

“Put it in a container and refrigerate overnight,” Sonya said.

The next day, you should have plenty of cherry-ripe slices to cut into pieces and enjoy.
