Dubai is one of the most luxurious cities in the world, but not everyone is captivated by its glamour.

Redditor ‘Klumber’ called it a “soulless place for people who like to show off their wealth,” while user ‘Calif0regonia’ claimed: “Dubai makes Las Vegas look cultured.”

‘AugieFash’ added: (Dubai) sucks. Take Las Vegas and remove the glamour, the lights, the entertainment, all the local culture and history, and (most of) the sin. And you get Dubai. In my opinion, Dubai is a place that looks like nothing.’

“Venice in the summer is horrible,” says one Redditor. The image above shows a crowded walkway in the city’s Piazza San Marco.

“Venice is eternity itself,” said the poet and essayist Joseph Brodsky.

But for Redditor ‘AttarCowboy’, it’s ‘appalling’.

They continued: “You’ll never get the sound of wheeled luggage hitting the cobblestones out of your head.”

And ‘GrantTheFixer’ wrote: ‘Venice in summer is horrible. Outside of that period, it’s still pretty nice.”

User ‘fedenl’ said: ‘Venice is a city that, unfortunately, is not made for the 21st century… (It is) impressive and sad.’

‘RagingMassif’ added: ‘Whatever is not in bad taste, is a tourist trap. My father, who was a European tour manager for 30 years, used to say: “Italians consider it a unit of failure for every euro you still have in your pocket when you leave.”

Home to Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and dozens of other theme parks, Orlando is certainly a tourist magnet. However, some Redditors criticized the American hotspot.

‘SassyPeach1’ wrote: ‘Orlando. All tacky themed hotels and cheap attractions: Gatorland, Medieval Times, cheap tacky gift shops.

‘Apprehensive_Clue635’ said: ‘Florida cities are some of the most soulless places I’ve ever been.’ While SassyPeach1′ added: ‘The entire state is soulless. But the beaches are beautiful.

User ‘merliahthesiren’ wrote: ‘Orlando seems like a horrible place to live. The last time I was there, all the old people I ran into were rude, miserable sons of bitches, but I understand why. “Orlando is a place where you take your kids once, go to Disney World and Universal, and then you leave.”

To which ‘itdumba**’, a self-proclaimed Orlando resident, responded: ‘We’re immersed in this godforsaken traffic every damn day, so…yeah.’

“British vulgarity reaches new heights”. We have a wrong view of serious, refined and formal British people.

But that didn’t stop them from visiting again and again.

The poster added: “I brought all my visitors from home to Blackpool and they loved it – a great counterpoint to all the historic sites and stately homes.”

These famous and imposing waterfalls straddle the Canada-US border.

Redditors have called both sides of the tourist attraction “kitsch” and “tacky.”

‘Redditisavirusiknow’ said: ‘Niagara Falls, Canada, is the most kitsch. If you told AI to make a tourist street, it would be Niagara Falls. The fakest plastic place you can imagine.

‘GrantTheFixer’ added: ‘The American part is also in bad taste. At least from the Canadian side you can see the falls better. User ‘NeverRespondsToInbox’ agreed: ‘It’s much worse on the US side, though. Our team has some charm. The American side is simply the ultimate tourist exploitation.’

Some users, however, claimed that the attraction’s vulgarity goes hand in hand with its charm.

‘Delicious_Echo7301’ said: ‘Niagara Falls is very cheesy and tacky, but as a Toronto resident, I always love taking visitors there.’

User ‘jollyadvocate’ agreed: ‘It’s so over the top it’s actually quite funny. “You go there for a certain experience and that’s what you get.”

User ‘wiggler303’ added: ‘Benidorm is fine if you ignore the small area with the British bastards. If you go a few blocks away from the strip, it will be fine.
